This Isekai Was Almost Good…

“The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World” is yet another isekai, but with a twist—our protagonist’s overpowered ability is… online shopping? With zero struggle, effortless success, and some questionable fanservice, this anime is peak wish fulfillment. But is it actually worth watching

  1. I watched this anime. I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10 and it was enjoyable. Some of the female characters were written weird but it's not written completely unrealistic.

  2. People's probably watched it for the furry alone. And don't get me wrong, it's ok to watch the fanservice, i watched most anime only for the fan service. The story's meh imo

  3. i watched it, i really don't like how the girl cat people have human faces but all the males are full cat people. it was a fine show fan service abit much i really wish anime would stop shoving girl companions down your throat. it felt like a weaker version of campfire cooking in another world.

  4. i get that most isekai are trash, but saying "isekai slop" and showing the 7th prince, is actually so wrong. if you read the manga and ignore their questionable character designs the 7th prince is actually one of the most amazingly beautiful actions mangas there are at the moment, like some of the panels is actually breathtaking.

  5. "The Daily Life Of A Middle-Aged Online Shopper In Another World" (Around 40 Otoko no Isekai Tsuuhan) is one of my favorite mangas, so I was really looking forward to this adaptation, and I'm so disappointed with what we actually got. This anime is a lazy, uninspired, low-budget, and easily forgettable boring mess. The art design is bad, the animation is choppy as hell (even for an anime), the pacing is uncomfortable, and the studio keeps inserting elements that weren't in the manga (like the bard at the very beginning, the interactions between the queen and the princess, or the little green dryad/fairy girl shown in the ending credits and when the MC first arrives in the new world) or leaving others out (like meeting the elves and discovering that they cultivate chocolate). "Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill" (Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi) tells basically the same story — a modern Japanese man transported to a fantasy/Medieval world with an online shopping skill — and it does it so much better, in every way.
