There is an ocean so dark down below the waves
Where you watch while these dreams gently float away
And there is a silence so soft it’s only memory
Like the way your voice always sounds when you sing to me

But I can’t hear it now
Just tell me how to keep breathing while pretending I’m not drowning
I don’t know if I could

I watched a door close for good
‘Cause I couldn’t keep it open

I just watched as the door closed for good
‘Cause I couldn’t keep it open

Just tell me how to keep breathing while pretending I’m not drowning
I don’t know if I could
I watched a door close for good
‘Cause I couldn’t keep it open

  1. What an absolute honour it is to be involved on this track and in this brilliant show – it truly feels surreal! Thank you so much to the wonderful Alex Seaver and the Riot team for having me – and to you guys here in the comments for all your love, support and kind words! 🥰♥Follow me over on my other channels to see what other exciting Arcane-related pieces the Riot team and I have in store for the next weeks?! 🤫😍 All my love, Freya x

  2. Starting season two with this emotional heartbreaking masterpiece, that felt so good and so sad at the same time what an honor to be a part of it. Thank you ❤

  3. "Just tell me how to keep breathing while pretending I'm not drowning…." – Such a perfect line that perfectly matched the emotions of the show

  4. My dad recently passed away.
The first time I heard this song, it was just a very good, very sad song.
    Now… it hits different.

  5. This isn't the end, keep fighting I know you will make it. I believe in you always. I'm waiting for you. 😁👍

  6. Of all the experiences in my life, losing my mother was the worst. An elderly friend was visiting me after and she said, from her own experience, “you will never stop missing her”. And I could see it in her eyes that she was still heartbroken.
    Beautiful song.

  7. This became my favorite scene in the show within an instant. The choice to surround the area with a pencil-drawn, dull visual was the best thing they could have done. The only vibrancy, the only real parts of that scenario for Cait was her, her mom, and Vi. All other surroundings were nullified into dull, void of color blurs. Absolutely incredible art direction. Speaking from experience, thats exactly how an experience such as that feels

  8. that beautiful alternate universe😢 although without our dear Vi. God ekko, powder, loris, and heimmer. they deserve so much better . 😭😭

  9. This song, paired with the awesome scene the visual team made, really burst me to tears. Even just listening to this song gives me that chilly sad feelings conveyed…

  10. I knew from the minute I heard the first lyrics of this that it was Freya Ridings, she has always had such a distinctive voice and I'm so happy it was her singing. Love her and this show
