My biggest problem with submitting to PSA/SGC via local sports cards shops is they refuse to "adjust" their prices for PSA/SGC Specials! Most local sports cards shops charge a flat-rate of $25.00 per card.
Now, if PSA/SGC has a special going on of $14.99 for Topps Now and/or Topps Chrome Update Card(s) submission, then reduce your damn price, if "I" want to submit Topps Now and/or Topps Chrome Update cards or whatever card(s) that meet PSA/SGC's special requirements.
That only makes sense!
But i have yet to find one local sports cards shop that is willing to do so.
and if GameStop's collaboration with PSA gets this right, then I am going to be using them for 100% of my PSA submissions!

Two months ago, I spoke to the owner of a popular sports cards shop in the Atlanta area, who group submits cards, as well as offer a service of evaluating your cards for not only Gem rate(PSA 10) potential or PSA 9 potential and would tell you which if your card(s) are worth submitting per ROI(Return on investment). He explained that PSA literally hates card shops like his shop, because PSA doesn't give a darn what grade they give you, but are only concern with grading your cards! Again, it's a "numbers" game for PSA, nothing more! Imagine if you multiple this shop owner by, let's say 100, can you now understand how many cards are being suggested to not submit to PSA?1
So, when it was announced online about a year ago that GameStop will be submitting cards to PSA, I understood exactly why! Plus, you better believe PSA has in Circle K's, 7/11, Wawa gas stations.
Trust me, all of the above are coming.
