The story revolves around a depressed author known only as Sensei, who, after a failed suicide pact with his girlfriend, Sacchan, finds himself transported to a fantasy realm called Zauberberg. Instead of becoming the hero he is summoned to be, Sensei’s lack of interest in adventure leads him on a comical journey filled with unintended heroics and dark humor. After being struck by a truck during their suicide attempt, Sensei awakens in a church where an elf priestess named Annette explains that he has been summoned to save the world. However, Sensei is far from enthusiastic about this role; he is more focused on finding Sacchan to fulfill their pact. Along the way, he inadvertently saves a catgirl named Tama from a deadly monster, leading to her joining his party alongside Annette. The trio navigates various challenges while Sensei continually seeks ways to end his life, only to find himself thwarted by his own unexpected luck and the needs of those around him
