The reason they animated this show involving teenagers is to showcase the context of serious topics and themes of horror science fiction supernatural. This scene has the serious topic about attempted sexual assault involving students her age as it was common in such media. While the scene is unsettling and creepy because it involves two teens there is a reason why they portray the scene as they did. It tries to send a message that you should never do it.
