Episode 5 of Grendizer U (2024) has Koji & Maria competing in a horse race, with elements similar to that of Episode 50 of UFO Robot Grendizer (1975), where Koji & Maria competed in both bike and horse racing. Maria and Koji is together because she basically Sayaka 2 I mean he argues with her like Sayaka you can see why is some stories there getting married even when Sayaka was around Maria is just a step up from her because the cute,beautiful and feisty it was the rage back then

マリアは荒木伸吾さんデザインだと思われるけど、元々が完成されたデザインというか変更点が少ないキャラ。
我等のブラッキー隊長＆ガンダル司令も変更点は少ないですな。
オリジナルの時代の声優さんの声のヒーロー感ヒロイン感はとてつもないですね。吉田さんの声は可愛くておてんばなんだけど、甘くなり過ぎず色気も感じますね。
何でこの2人いがみ合ってるん？
オリジナルの石丸博也さん、吉田理保子さんの声が永井キャラのヒーロー、ヒロインにふさわしい。世代的にはドンピシャで素晴らしい。
確か旧作では「甲二を好きなのは私くらいのものよ。💓」って言ってたなぁ。
甲児とマリアが良い仲になるとさやかの立場が無くなるから複雑だよね。でもマリア良い子なんだよな…。

Even Maria now is the over used tsundere, arrogant and with the squeeky annoying voice that FOR SOME REASON arouse the common otaku.
A side note: in 2024, the translations (the subtitles) are still adapted with a lot of unnecessary "immagination".
If you don't know Japanese, just use Google.
I can't stand to hear a sentence and to read a subtitle with a totally different meaning.

A funny detail: had the one in Grendizer U been old Koji, Maria would have been exceptionally wrong – the TFO, Koji's aerial unit, has a self contained antigravity engine, and funnily enough he invented it because he was bored of the lessons at MIT. Yes, he saw one of the most advanced tech institutes in the world as little more than a silly little errand.
Not to mention that he was the one who built Neo Z, Neo Great and the Ichinana units in Infinity.
Take his hotbloodedness for stupidity, and you're in for a big surprise.
