In this scene, my heart melted because the youkai knew that humans have a short life, just like the short life of these flowers, yet they’re still entranced by Natsume. This scene represents the encompassment of all the youkais Natsume made such an impact on their lives.

    I love this scene so much. It was so beautifully written and so beautifully portrayed. The youkais knew how short a humans life is yet still, they care so much about Natsume. I can only just imagine how many youkais would be so heartbroken when Natsume becomes old and passes away or when he can no longer see them again. ;~;

    This anime is so sad, knowing they'll have to say goodbye one day. Them knowing that humans live little but still love Natsume. Knowing that he will never meet Reiko, but that if they had met, perhaps neither of them would feel so alone… Everything is so so sad
