Senya's life is such misery. He just couldn't ever be happy lol. Spent his childhood training as an experimental weapon, starts a new life and is chased around by mad gods/dragons. Kills Tsukiko's dad by accident, forced to kill a goddess he was escaping from… it's just despair.
The regional gods aren't losing their minds due to age, it's obvious that the group of 5 did something to both her and the god from before. Also, this was mentioned several times already this season, but the group of 5 refers to the ones who interrupted Jinka's fights twice last season. That's why Shinsuke knew about them.
