   Well he IS Irish Hercules, it makes sense he'd be pretty OP.
   
   It's one of the things I love about this version of the series is that they do this sort of tiny mythology drops occassionally to hint at just who and what each of these Servants are.

   Abridged is one of the least annoying versions of Shirou, you should see Shirou in the 2006 DEEN anime. Jesus… that was a rough time

   remember archer line about lancer "he seem like a trouble that never wins a fight"
   allow me to explain briefly..
   in the earliest route aired in 2006.. lancer sure was strong but his position was mostly at the shadows, unactive.. and he never won encounter.. (since he encounter saber and gilgamesh)
   then if you would see the show "Carnival Phantasam" a pure comedy show, make fun on fate and another series…
   and since the image lancer gain in the first route… at the parody show they hammered him everytime they needed a scapegoat.. just as in looneytoons there was rock or anvil pushing a character luck all the way to 0… that was lancer in carnival phantasam.
   UBW came after and decided to show what the first route havn't revealed.. that lancer if put in fair fight.. is sick! builded up for the toughest of warriors. but tbh he isn't quite heracless or king arthur..

    Yet again, Shirou is somehow arguably more accurate to his VN counterpart than he was in the actual anime. His obsessive tendencies with his dream aren't necessarily focused too heavily on in the anime due to them having to remove most of his internal monologues, but here in the abridged it shines through a bit more. Good stuff.

    Also, Lancer's "riddles" are a style of poem called a limerick. It's a style native to Ireland if I recall. Similar to how haikus are native to Japan.
