Guys it's Fyodor we're talking about. I don't think he'd die just because he didn't recognize that Chuuya was dressed in his Halloween outfit lol
I believe that the words, which he said at the end, have to do with his ability. He might look pretty much dead rn but that's the point, it should look like the perfect crime scene that pushes him over the cliff of a certain death – he was stabbed, crushed, and burned in an explosion. It is everything that the audience needs in order to believe that he is dead, right? Of course, with the information that we have rn it is difficult to imagine that he is alive but this is the point because it is exactly where his ability will kick in, it's just the perfect timing to showcase a character like him (I mean it's about time we see it anyway) Overall, it's a difficult and complex explanation, a hard to swallow pill for a difficult and complicated, hard to digest character.
Plus, let's not forget that by touching Sigma, he also received some sort of information due to Sigma's ability and it probably had to do with his "death" here. Sigma, on the other hand, fainted because the knowledge he gained was too much to comprehend. If Sigma thinks that Fyodor is that dangerous after he reads his plans, chances are high that Fyodor is not dead at all.
Also just stop for a second and imagine creating a major character who brings complete chaos for 3 seasons…only to have him killed off without giving him any background detail whatsoever lol it sounds ridiculous.
So far Dazai and Fyodor tried to kill each other far too many times and they both lived so I doubt it this is the end. Plus, the mangaka himself said in a recent interview that the manga is far from over so that means that there is plenty to be seen ahead, and as Fyodor is the main antagonist so far I believe he is very much alive.
When this happend I cried in the corner.

I'm pretty sure I'll get a lot of hate on this but am i the only one who didn't really care for his death? (I think I am). No joke his expressions when Dazai and Chuuya revealed their real plan made me feel a sorta bad for him. But overall … Well? Na don't worry about it. I'm sure his death will hit me any hour now.
God, I have mixed feelings towards Fyodor's death, as well as his character, it's like a love-hate thing. I never really liked how his personality was depicted as pure evil, I wanted at least something out of personality that strayed from "just the bad guy and thats it", but I always liked how he was basically just as intelligent as Dazai and even more so his interactions with Dazai(Soukoku and Fyozai's dynamics are chefs kiss, and it doesn't even have to be romantic.) I feel that it's fitting for him to die, but this death just made me feel so empty……theres a tiny knot in my chest knowing that unlike Dazai and Chuuya, there is almost no way hes alive…..
I really wanted him to be directly killed by Nikolai's hands or chose his own death/led himself to his own death for some smartass unbelievable god-related reason, but apparently he was just outsmarted by Dazai, it doesn't feel f*cking right.
Nikolai hugging Fyodor's severed arm is literally everything to me, I'm so fricking glad both Dazai and Chuuya are alive, but being immediately followed by Fyodor being outsmarted and being made to look like a total idiot while Dazai is some kind of genius god is so irritating and overwhelming.
I hope hes alive, even though hes likely not.
I enjoyed his character and honestly I think it would be kinda interesting if he is still alive and the ADA is completely disbanding, causing a possible new arc similar to dead apple. Just a interesting idea!
One thing that really confuses me and convinces me that Fyodor is alive is that somehow his injured arm survived? That was really sketchy. And the tone in which Dazai was speaking. It makes me think that he knows Fyodor is alive. I've always thought that if Fyodor dies he will die with Dazai, as they are equals. Fyodor's expression looked really genuine, however, a lot of evidence points towards Fyodor not being dead. There's a Reddit post that says what Fyodor said in the end was what Jesus said when he 'died' I'm not religious so I don't understand, but something with resurrection and the way of death was somewhat similar. I also believe that it makes sense for Dazai to be solemn if Fyodor actually died, but I believe he'd display it differently. I hope Fyodor is actually dead, which is a possibility, though, in my opinion, I don't believe that will happen. There are lots of mysteries still surrounding Dazai, Fyodor, and the book. And the whole emotion thing with Ivan too. And him and Nikolai. I don't ship Fyolai, but their relationship is interesting and complex. And Asagiri did say he wanted to introduce more authors. And the ending of the last episode was so confusing. It gave me Dead Apple fight scene vibes, but idk.

Even if he’s dead (which I think he is tbh) I think he will still have an impact on the story going forward even in death. Maybe someone who was really loyal to him will follow in his footsteps in riding the world of gifted people.

Trying to forget the fact that i love Fyodor, his death doesn't seems very logical to me. He was one of the smartest characters in bsd. I find it hard to belive that dazai's plot, that even the fandom kinda realised (due to fearing dazai's death, but its still a guess) it, and that, lets be honest, not the most unpredictable thing for him, he never seemed to trust a single soul fully, so how didnt he think of that possibility? His death doesn't looks so special and shocking as it should be for one of the main antagonists, you know? Kinda the same felling i had with dazai's death.
