OVERTAKE! is a racing anime about Formula 4 and in this video, I make numerous comparisons between it and FORMULA 1. I remember being extremely hype when I first saw the announcement and legitimately wish it got a manga of some sort. Did you just waste your time reading what essentially are just tags…? Yes, yes you did.

    I haven't finished overtake, and it's hard to say why but I think your vid helps solidify it a bit. Like you say, sports anime like Haikyuu tend to mix in "emotional" aspects for character development sake. The problem is balancing it with the "goal" of the show, ie the sport. Early on it seemed like Overtake was more about the "passion" for a skill or career rather than F1 as a sport. Seeing as our main character isn't the driver, but a photographer that basically lucked out in to the world of motorsports, it makes sense. Honestly Overtake isn't a sports/F1 anime, its a character drama that has F1 as it's filler or background, and that's disappointing

    I'm completely obsessed with both cars and anime. I keep up with news on both, but don't watch F1, and don't watch 95% of new anime…
    With that said, I was interested in watching this show.
    Do you suggest I watch this anime or not? It was hard to tell your personal opinion on it. Great video otherwise though
