Anyone who says Japanese monster movies are just men in cheap rubber suits smashing up unconvincing model sets needs to be sat down and shown this movie.
Because this movie released the exact same year that Godzilla 2000: Millennium first released in Japan, I feel like the 1999 Gamera from Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris is the true Millennium incarnation of Gamera. Despite the fact that the film released during the end of the Heisei era in Japan and was the final entry in the Heisei Gamera trilogy. Also Gamera 1999 vs Godzilla 2000, now that would be a matchup that I would definitely pay to see.
I’m a first and foremost Godzilla fan, but the Heisei Gamera films, especially this one was in the league of its own. I like how it wasn’t afraid the show the impact and casualties.

Gamera 3 is the only Japanese movie i've seen that could pull off great CGI effects. Sorry Godzilla, but that's one point for the turtle
The 90s trilogy was awesome. Some of the best Kaiju movies out there.

“Oh my god, were so sorry! How did Jim die?”
“Flying turtle landed on him with his rocket feet.”
