Long before she took on the name Nightbirde, Jane Marczewski dreamed of becoming a singer as a little girl growing up in Zanesville Ohio. The cancer survivor captured the hearts of AGT viewers with her story and audition of her original song, “It’s OK.”

Unfortunately, Jane had to withdraw to focus on her health and she was unable to continue competing on season 16 of America’s Got Talent.

After a four-year battle with cancer, America’s Got Talent Contestant Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski died on February 19, 2022.

Check out the video to learn more about her story and what AGT didn’t get a chance to tell you.

  1. Her husband will always be remembered as the man who left his wife when she needed him right by her side.

  2. Takes a shitty man to turn on his wife when she needs him most. More like a cowardly man-child. It happened to me too when I had breast cancer. Nightbirde was such an inspiration to so many. This song is my go-to when I feel lost.

  3. R.I.P Jane. Will never forget you and your beauty & strength. I listen to your songs, which all have deep meaning. ❤ I find it hard to believe, your husband could walk out on you, when you needed him most. Shame on him. 😢

  4. I am so glad she is alive and well in eternity up in heaven with Jesus. I am sure she is blessing everyone with her voice and has been creating more music than what she has left behind for us. What a beautiful soul, and spirit. God blessed us all, and may it inspire all to seek Christ before our day comes calling.

  5. I have cried every time I see her sing! My dreadful question is…Why weren't her parents there to support her? I would have been there to support her and given her the longest hug ever… for her accomplishment!!! I will always remember her in my heart and in my soil! God has gained the most beautiful angel!!! " It's ok" ❤

  6. Please dub this video w/ the correct pronunciation of both her nickname (she was NOT “Night-bird-ee”) and her family name.

Your inaccuracies suggest you didn’t spend much time learning about this person, and are only jumping on the bandwagon out of curiosity or a desire to be better known/ ‘famous.’ Neither of those motivations look good on you, and disrespect her life and legacy. TY.

  7. What a brave soul. When I think I can't carry on anymore, I think of Jane, and how hard she fought to the very end. I don't have the right to feel sorry for myself after knowing what she went through. Jane inspired me to carry on, and I have, thanks to her.

  8. I have cancer again and am about to start chemo. Sometimes I think of her singing this song and it helps me. Nightbirde is an inspiration.

  9. She's more than strength to whoever is passing through this, she was a fighter, and i will reiterate her word and say , that you all are more better than the bad things(cancer) that is happening to you. stay positive

  11. That would be cool if we could still donate to Jane (nightbirde) but she's crossed over to sing with the Angels, God bless you 🙏🏽♥️

  14. Thank you for all that you bring to your readings. I look forward to you. You have been my confirmation in many ways 🪔

  15. I have had BC twice, two different times two different cancers- 2010 and 2021. I'm okay. I cried when I heard her song the first time. I cry every time I hear it. 🥲 God is soooo good !

  16. She very clearly pronounced her name "nightbirde" as "nightbird" not "nightbirdie". You did so much research on this amazing person and somehow still got that wrong.

  17. Chemo does that. Enduring so much radiation can stop some cancers from growing further, but it also makes you higher risk for new cancers forming. I wish illness wasn't so profitable. It's like every treatment and medication is designed to make you a permanent returning customer.
