I think everyone misunderstood on this part 1:16 that its happening in the current timeline. In this season ep 3 actually it was the time Dazai met akutagawa for the first time and bring him back to the mafia. You can see Dazai wearing mafia outfit too in that part. (Oh and also Aku looked short means when he was a kid). Its not him and aku being dead or anything 👽 (not spoiler) (I found this part really cute too 😭)
