Here is my Ahsoka Episode 8 review, although I suspect it’s as much a rant as it is a review. I’ve been holding my tongue largely about this show, but last night finally broke me as I watched witches and undead zombie stormtroopers and Super Jedi Sabine strutting around, and I just suddenly had enough. I don’t mean to rain on anyone’s parade who enjoyed it, I respect your right to your own opinion and I do not consider MY opinion to be any more or less valid than yours, but as far as my opinion goes, this is not Star Wars, and I’m sick and tired of Disney trying to shove crap like this down our throats. Here is my review. And my rant. #disney #starwars #ahsoka

I think the bumbest part was when Cebine used the force to turn Ezra into Mary Poppins so he could board Thrawns ship.
The crux of the issue at heart for Star Wars is that the good guys are too unbelievable. Time and again they are too powerful to begin with and get whatever elite skills they need instantly for any given situation. The villains are either incompetent, or comic relief. There is no tension. There is no journey. The good guys from the beginning of the Star Wars sequels on have been the favorites, and the bad guys the underdogs. The one exception is Rogue One where we know they will succeed, but we also know the price of success must be sacrifice due to the overwhelming odds. This is the antithesis of everything any writer knows when crafting a story. If multiple writers over multiple projects all under the same banner do not understand the basic premise for writing stories about heroes and bad guys it completely explains why the rest of the writing is so terrible. The dialogue is trash. Most plot lines are unmemorable and unnecessary. The use of constantly inventing instant mastery for heroes of whatever skill, power, or knowledge that is needed at just the precise movements it is needed is so tired, and uninspired. It has been nearly 8 years, and outside of a few episodes within one series (Mandalorian), and a near hit with Rogue One, it has been really a poor effort. Some of it incredibly insulting.
Fan of your content, But You’ve turned into one of those “ I want more Star Wars so I can hate Star Wars” folks. Sure you’ve got some great points about Ahsoka, (and the other series) but come on. I remember a time when there was no SW films or series to look forward to. I think your hatred towards Disney has ruined your appreciation for anything having to do with the SW universe.
Never saw your review for Andor, which I thought was (slow at first) but overall amazing. but that was a completely DIFFERENT take on the story line. It’s like your vid’s are purely negative reviews on EVERYTHING. Lighten up Doom Cock. Enjoy something once in a while. Or how bout this , make a vid of what you DO LIKE about SW right now. Even if it’s only a short vid. But no matter what, I’ll still keep watching your content.
Disney has always stolen it's stories like Snow White. It's the Disney way!
You live on a double edge sword. Meaning you switch side's, just choose wisely
If you can't I'll stop listening to you
Damn shame. RIP to Ray Winstone.
Sorry Doomcock but the all you can eat burrito night made of farts sword was just one more piece of pure idiocy from Disney Star Warts.
No way that was the last episode ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha i though it was 8 of 10 so it was just a normal episode ha ha ha
So it is finally acknowledged that Filoni is not the savior of Star Wars but is trying to replace Luke with his masturbation template in post Episode 6 times?
Nothing fantastical or imaginative thrilling under Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy.
Hail Doomcock !
I'm reminded of the tagline for the game House of the Dead
'How do you kill what's already dead? Any way you can!'
The problem is that they keep hiring actors, writers and directors with no idea on how the character should act. It should be mandatory for anyone writing Asoka to seen the series. And maybe even read the book.
Unfortunately, that does not happen, due to the rush toward production. So you get someone with no idea whatsoever on how the character should act, only how it should look.
And when they have someone that actually knows how to play the character (like Mark Hammil with Luke) they ignore him. As the only thing important is the rush toward more money. In the short term, at the cost of destroying IP in the long term.
They are not the only ones with it. Warner Brothers live action has the same problem with DC characters. The animated movies are top notch. But the live actions tend to be crap. (with some exceptions).
In order to properly write and act a character you need to know the character and put yourself into its mindset.
Looks are not enough.
Andor was so good, sad how this went
Why are all the YouTube and Facebook accounts trying to browbeat us into thanking that Ahsoka is bad? It was wonderful and I look forward to season 2. It felt like Star Wars for the first time in years!
You lost me the second you said “male oriented.” Star Wars has always been for all, not just “male oriented”. The original trilogy has always had strong female characters. Also, the constant whining about “woke” is annoying.
Bro, do you even know what the word means?
Seriously, especially being a negative term? I’m asking because the opposite of woke is asleep. People being gay is not agenda. People wanting to make amends for slavery is not an agenda. You sound an awful lot like the extremists who want to ignore the world is complicate and messy and it takes work to get along with everyone equally.
Your hate for Disney has clouded any ability you have to have a sane take.
Ahsoka has been good. Really good.
Gotta keep those clicks coming though…
My wife who enjoys the sequel trilogy, is pissed off that Sabine can use the force.
I’ m not planning to watch Ahsoka.
I was very confused by the finale
The whole story of this series feels irrelevant. I feel no danger, no excitement, where are the stakes? I really wanted to love it but it just don't feel like Star Wars. Andor felt also different and it throw me off at first. But at the end it felt like star Wars after some episodes. And boy, those action scenes are lacking.. Its kinda sad…
When Overlord said "I think maybe Dave Filoni could possibly save Star Wars, if he ever decided to make any." I felt that. It was like a deep resignation and sorrow for what Star Wars has become.
This shouldve been Luke's show.
Star Wars was an epic space opera with classical themes and an overarching narrative consistency. Disney took it and let the LEAST TALENTED people possible create content for it (with the exception of the people that made Andor, it is great). What they got was a sequel trilogy where the first episode is a ripoff of A New Hope, the second was made by a Beta-male cuck white-knight m'lady that wanted to push a horrifically simplistic feminist narrative, and the third is a clusterfuck attempt to fix the story that ends up breaking it more than anyone thought possible. The Mandalorian is a good idea that never lived up to its promise, with only the Luke Skywalker scene feeling like "real Star Wars" (so naturally they never do anything like that again). Ahsoka answers the question, "What if we hired talentless hacks and cartoon show writers to make a star wars show that is all about girls weighing 98 lbs. being heroic despite the show being painfully simplistic in its writing?" I don't know how much money Disney has to lose before they realize that Star Wars is an IP that appeals mostly (not entirely) to men/boys. Having ALL of the Jedi/Good guys be girls is bad marketing, poor writing, and plain stupid for this IP. Nerdy guys are the fanbase and this insistence on making every hero a skinny girl is insulting to the intelligence of the fanbase. HEY. . . HOW DID THIS WORK FOR BUD LIGHT HUH!??!?! HOW THEY DOING!?!?!
Absolute truth. It does seem however that Millennials love it.
Is it spite for the Star Wars generation or do they really think this crap is worthy?
Most of the time follow up movies tend to be bad or under deliver. I prefer new short franchise and move on to the next after it.
Filoni have'nt stepped up the game, when you go from cartoon to live action u need to step up, ahsoka feels like an cartoon series, there are things you get away with when you do cartoon shows, when you do live action films there are thing that might worked as cartoon but in live actions it looks quit off. so Filoni is telling us a cartoon story in live action cartoon format-_-, and it looks and comes out as weird.
9:18 Press F for the nerfed F-bom.. 🤣😂
Perfectly said, and 100% agree!
Sabine will become a WITCH by the end of season 2.
Looks to me like everyone has an agenda…on both sides It was entertaining 7.5 out of 10 Didn't like Sabine as a Jedi Ahsoka fights painfully slow But she's 50 so that's fine 😂
Why would Anakin appear to Ahsoka but not Luke?? Makes no sense, especially given that he wasn't there for Luke his whole life. Ridiculous.
All of it kind of makes the originals seem even more precious and beautiful though. Makes you realize that Jedi was actually a pretty fantastic ending. Makes you see how good the old EU actually was. I think the 80s and 90s were a kind of golden age of creative storytelling, especially in movies and franchises (that Lucas practically invented). We saw the flowering of so many IPs. It all fell apart pretty quickly, but we're still living in the ruins and trying to puppet it.
So what happened with the 5 Horsemen of the Apocalypse that Iger sent to LucasFilm? Shouldn't they have prevented and fixed this Ahsoka mess?
Lord Doomcock:
And Disney does a poor job a plagerism at that.
You know Disney reached a new low when the Reviews is better than the product.
I'm convinced Doomcock is actually Mike Zero in mask the amount of crap he comes out with.99%of things he says are completely false.
Disney has never been creative.
It is always exploiting the public domain. It's only gotten worse. The
Disney Logic in under 10 seconds.
Okay, what's popular? Oh yeah, that is. Let's use that in everything.
I don't know for sure about Ashoka but the comments about it from DoomC, Drinker , Mauler and Nerdrotic are realy fun and enjoyable.
I'm thinking the rumors are true and Hasbro turned down Ahsoka for merchandise rights and Disney can't even use the watch numbers to lobby it for licensing of merchandise. The show is probably doing worse than even OverlordDVD thinks.
i love how every mf who trashes Disney star wars (totally deserved btw) is always some guy wearing a mask (first Knights of Melvin and now Overlord DVD)
They keep trying to make Star Wars fit and reflect the modern world, when it needs to be and was, at its best, and escape from the modern world.
Ugly people with power have to destroy what is beautiful so they don't seem so ugly.
Spoiler: It doesn't work
Star Wars is dead to me so I watch this for actual entertainment, cheers Doomcock 👊
