Disney has made a MASSIVE MISTAKE in yanking ESPN and other programming from Spectrum and Charter Cable! This is not only a PR DISASTER of epic proportions, it is also likely to cost them $1.5 Billion dollars a year in lost revenue if they don’t come to an agreement with Spectrum! And worst of all is the damage to the brand and Disney’s reputation among the normies! Depriving millions of sports fans of college football games and U.S. Open tennis matches during the long Labor Day weekend is no way to endear yourself to the American public! Now not only former Star Wars fans, but normies all throughout the country have anger toward the Mouse, and that anger is only increasing with each passing day this debacle continues! Here is some analysis of how much money Disney is losing over this situation every day, and what the likely impact is going to be for Disney long term! #disney #espn #spectrum

Hail Doomcock !
I hear becoming number one is something most companies are trying to achieve. Disney becoming the number one most hated company is not something they should be trying to achieve.
Reap the whirlwind, disney…
If you have content that has been made, you make a deal with netflix and they pay you $X and that is $X in income. You don't need to do much to accomplish this. To have your own streaming platform, you host your own content… but then you need to advertise, have customer service, have the infrastructure to create a website to manage this service as well as the cost of hosting and streaming content. All of a sudden $X in easy income can become a big loss.
There is little doubt the future of these large streaming platforms is toast. It is unsustainable.
When you piss your customers off more than Spectrum….you know you fucked up.
SHORT DIS!!!!
Bye Disney.
The best Disney show I’ve seen in a long time is the one where Disney is burning to the ground as it dumps gas on itself. I never thought it was possible to see Disney flop, but it’s happening. We wanted to see it for ourselves and decided to visit DW for the first time in about 3 years. You can see they are cutting corners they never cut before. The super happy cast members are somewhere in between now and the park is showing that it’s not getting the attention it once did. The fact that over Labor Day weekend we walked on to Smugglers Run says it all. People don’t care anymore. Galaxy’s Edge was just short of a ghost town. It’s perfect! Let it all burn. We don’t need to spend our money with a company that hates us, especially Star Wars fans!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!
They did it! Disney finally found a way to finish themselves off!!!!!!!!!
Looks like DI$NEY needs their Crisis Management Team…LIKE NOW!
It is a terrible idea to piss off die hard College Football fans and NFL fans by removing ESPN from their available channels. It’s not just going to hurt Disney and ESPN, but also these Cable companies too. For some people they only have cable tv or ESPN (Disney) because they love to watch sports and they don’t really ever watch anything else. It’s a terrible idea to anger sports fans especially at the start of the College and soon to begin NFL Football season!
I work at spectrum. Ask me anything I have done my research on this one heavily
I love it.
woke garbage has awakened the mainstream. to quote Dune-“the sleeper awakens”
Why did Disney screw up football fans fun? Why is Disney so bothered by fans having fun?
A bit unrelated, but this channel itself gives a heavy mid-2000s vibe.
I haven’t laughed in a long time. Seriously.…
But, Doomcock’s imaginary conversation (as a sports fan talking to Disney) broke me up : “Yeah, F U Disney, you price-gouging F’s !” 😂. (Thanks).
Is Disney trying to go bankrupt? Maybe they see it as their way out of all the crippling debt and expenditures on the horizon.
as of 1147 am on thursday september 7th 2023 disney's stock value is under $80 USD
Discovery, which included ESPN tried to gouge Sky UK, about 5 years ago with a massive increase in their fees to use their content.
Sky called their bluff and announced that they would be dropping all the channels.
They bottled it and backed down.
Ya, I'm not a fan of Spectrum, but I'm an even less a fan of Disney. I hope people who have Spectrum just refuse to change providers. This isn't Spectrum's fault, so hang in there. Use a pirate stream or something if you need to see a football game, etc. That's what I will do if my provider (Fubo) loses ESPN down the road.
The very definition of elitism! Taking away the opportunity for the workers to have entertainment on the very weekend set aside to honour American workers. The very people who Disney's fortune was made from!
Disney stock is now trading below $80. Go woke go broke. No executive Christmas bonuses this year 😂
No these are not just sporting events, they are "religious" experiences.
Ah, Disney's own self-imposed self-destruction is the most entertainment that they've provided in years. Burn, baby, burn. 😋
Oh~! Also, as I type this in, Disney stock had dropped to $79.91 before barely going back up to 80. And I couldn't be happier. The pixie-dusters are likely huffing that copium big time. Hah~! 🤣
Disney was once trusted,… then we had to research what gay crap they are spewing into the media before our children see it….. now just ignoring the media totally
Good job Disney
Here's something that people aren't aware of. Over the last 5 years. Several small town local cable TV systems have been dropping the TV side of their service in order to free up bandwidth for internet service with out having to invest in new cable infrastructure. But the "Straw that's breaking the camel back." is that Disney will not let these small CTV companies move ESPN to a premium(pay extra) service like HBO. I'm not a bit surprised that Spectrum is doing this. In fact, I expected it. Will see of COX, Comcast fallow suit as well.
The biggest problem here isn't that ESPN is expensive. It's because Disney doesn't want to let cable system move ESPN to a premium service. This is forcing (non sport fans.)cable customer to pay for a service that they don't want, and at a premium price. I'll bet that if Disney let cable system move ESPN to a premium service and double the price for the channel. It will work a lot better in the end.
Less alphabet soup propaganda is a win for everyone (except those damn activists)
As happy as I am to see Disney suffer, we all know they'll get bailed out by the Government, or will just get further bought out by places like Black Rock, or Bill will buy a majority shares like he did with Bud Light….
Just repair it…. ok….
$79 and falling
Mwa-hahHAhahaHa yes yes
Burn disney burn 🔥
Disney is getting desperate. Just got an email offer to return to Disney plus for $1.99 a month for three months.
Still not worth it.
This has to be intentional, right? I understand how they'd keep shooting themselves in the foot over and over with woke propaganda because the cultists are afraid of each other, but what does THIS have to do with anything except piledriving their stocks even harder than before?!
Does anyone remember back when you could turn on the TV and just watch whatever was on? Baseball games, basketball games, hockey games, football games, tennis, golf. Hell even some fringe sports. You could just turn on the TV and there was the Lakers, ducks, Yankees, dodgers whatever. Keep in mind this was back in the 90's to early 2000's for me.
I am starting to think less and less Disney or (insert News/Media company here), and more Censorship Industrial Complex, FBI, CIA, partisan political covert agencies… and such.
Charter is paying Disney 2.2 BILLION a year. How much more does Disney want? Well, I lost ESPN, but I really don't care ANYMORE. Let the new "Woke" Disney go BROKE.
