I've been watching anime since 1988 and I've never heard or seen this film. "shikasi" hands down the animation of this film for its time is truly beyond "sugoi"

Destroyed the whole nation, even got your girlfriend killed. All for 3 months luxury & live being hunted by the enemy. It's sad because this thing was caused by no other than your own spouse. What a sad & educating story. I love it❤❤❤❤
30年以上前、私が10代の頃に大阪サンケイホールのアニメフィルムマラソンというイベントでこの作品を観ましたが内容をすっかり忘れていました。今日あらためて鑑賞して、いのまたむつみさんが描かれるキャラクターの普遍的な魅力と声優さんの声、新居昭乃さんの美しいエンディング曲に感激したのと同時に、救われない悲しい物語に心を打ちひしがれます。今年で51歳になりましたが残された人生の教訓にしたいと思います。ありがとうございました。
Has that mid 80's was early 90s feel to it.
It's not at all janky like some from the time.
This kinda makes me think of my grandmother and grandfathers relationship, he was in the military even before they were married my mother talked about how hurt my grandmother was that he was more or less away from home for years but for brief periods even when she was a young adult. Grandpa served all the way thru Korea to Vietnam, when hom and Grandma had their 7th kid and GP as we called him was going to be sent to veitnam he got ahold of a priest and said listen here I've been in for 20 years just had my 7th kid and got a hardship discharge. He actually got to spend a lot of time in Japan and loved the people.
