Description of anime:
1973, Vietnam. An American soldier suddenly goes crazy and opens fire on his comrades. The only words he said were “banana fish”.
Twelve years later, the police investigate a series of mysterious suicides, and a dying man gives the young and charismatic leader of the gang, Ash Lynx, a vial of a mysterious substance.
At the same time, young Japanese photographer Eiji Okumura arrives in New York, becoming Ash’s unwitting accomplice and falling with him into a bloody whirlpool of pride, greed, lust and anger, the key to which is the strange phrase “banana fish”.
