Shenmue 4 Is CONFIRMED…
Suzuki was speaking at a special event in Yokosuka, one of the locations from the first game. Chatting further with Famitsu, as spotted by VGC, he explained that should he proceed with a fourth instalment, he’d like to make it more accessible to newcomers. Shenmue 3 was, of course, extremely niche – but it was a crowdfunded project, created specifically for hardcore fans, so that made sense.
Could we see a Shenmue 4?

I just hope and pray that they don't take another 19 years for the fourth one to come out. The very first Shenmue came out in 1999 when I was just 14 and the second Shenmue came out in 2001 when I was just 16, and both of those games were amazing. Shenmue 3 finally came out in 2019 when I was 34 and the whole entire game was trash, straight garbage. The came was crowdfunded too so I wonder how all of those people who actually donated to this game being made feel now. Shenmue 3 was a complete let down and on top of that it barely had any action at all.

3 was atrocious, hopefully they make 4 better
I really think if they do shenmue 4 they should think about adding elements of modern game design to some degree ( not the point of runing the feel of the game mind you but more in the spirit of the franchise like when you open draws maybe there doesnt need to be an animation etc). I also think that they should really make the combat system way more in depth than 3, the virtua fighter stuff would be awesome.

Shenmue had next to nothing to do with the production of Shenmue 3, so I doubt they‘ll have a say in Shenmue 4.
We‘ve known that Shenmue will be 5 games at least for 20+ years, so the cliffhanger ending is expected.

Bring back the throws. I loved Shenmue 3 but not the actual combat.
Is so easy to spot people that were there and lived the moment, from posers that get their info from 2nd rate internet sources and create twisted narratives about one of the most influential and impressive games of all time. That games have evolved for 20+ years since, that's a very different issue.
Why are they keep making yakuza games but not shenmue? They should remake shenmue 1 and 2 or making 4.
I actually really enjoyed shenmue 3 and had more fun than with shenmue 2 😂

Shenmue is a gem. I need a fourth I could live in them forever. Thank goodness I found yakuza. I am starting shenmue over.

They could've literally named it "Sequel-Bait", instead of Shenmue
of course there is a point to it – every other game out there is utter crap compared to the shenmue series (yeah)
yeah they'res clearly a point in making it, the fans will buy it, The anime did well and if it gets a physical release the fans will buy it, and the new fans that have joined the community that only ever watched the anime will also likely buy shenmue4.
Yu Suzuki is delusional if he thinks Mue 3 catered to hardcore fans. It was abysmal. Terrible combat, forced training, rubbish side content which was most of the game, stamina and eating, and zero story movement. Not even close to the originals.
