Some stretches of Maryland Route 140 remain closed to traffic as a result of Monday night’s storms, as crews make progress in restoring outages. Baltimore Gas and Electric officials said they expect several hundred outages to remain until Friday after the storms took out 20 transmission poles, trapping dozens of people in their cars on Route 140. Ten other utility poles were damaged. Some 1,500 utility crews are in the area from all over the country helping to restore service.
