Perfect Blue is a 1997 Japanese adult animated psychological thriller film directed by Satoshi Kon.
Mima’s heroine’s barrier begins to break down, and her personality splits into two.
Stress causes her to hallucinate – now she sees Mima everywhere – a pop idol, telling her that Mimarin is a traitor and a fake, and she herself is real.
Meanwhile, murders begin to occur on the set.
She doesn’t remember where she was or what she did.
In the end, it turns out that Rumi, Mima’s manager and friend, who considered herself a pop idol, suffered from a split personality. The film ends with Mima looking at herself in the car in the rearview mirror and saying with a smile, “I’m real.”
