During summer vacation at her families house,
Six year old Hotaru Takegawa gets lost in a forest rumored to have spirits,
While crying out in desperation,
Hotaru is approached by Gin,
A mysterious boy wearing a mask,
Who offers to help her.
Overjoyed by seeing another person,
Hotaru runs to Gin with open arms,
Only to be rejected,
However she learns the reason behind his behavior,
Is because Gin is cursed,
And if he were to ever be touched by a human,
He would disappear forever.
Though Gin urges her to never come back,
Hotaru does the exact opposite,
And over the years, they start to become closer
