so that whole scene where nana asks saeki about using her time travel powers over and over again to get back to michiru made me think like… what if after teaming up with saeki they went through with trying it, and failed

with saeki’s backstory, it’s implied that there’s some kind of unchangeable fate where if someone is meant to die, they will die no matter what, so even if nana knew what was going to happen, she couldn’t stop it, michiru dying was inevitable and she grows even more bitter and despaired with each loop
and since saeki can’t travel forwards in time, only backwards, the two of them have to live through everything together all over again
