First of all, to those who are celebrating, Happy Chinese New Year!
For this week’s upload, I have arranged the OP of one of my favourite comedy anime series, which is known as “Distance”. Coincidently, the name of this song can somehow describe the situation of the Chinese New Year in 2021 as there is not much family-relative gathering can be made, and some of the family members can’t even return to their hometown to physically gather with their family due to the worsening Covid-19 pandemic.
Anyway, the original theme of this song is quite catchy, and as usual, I tried to arrange it in a more relaxing and soothing way. Hopefully, it can mentally bring you back to some of the nostalgic scenes in this anime series.
The main key of this piece is D major, and one of the worth-mentioning parts in this arrangement is that there is the use of chromatic notes (bar 26) when approaching the chorus section. Also, I made use of B minor at the 39th bar, as well as the transition from B minor back to the main key of D major (bar 41 to bar 43) to bring an end to this piece.
Like what I have mentioned in the previous arrangement (Inferno), I will be uploading my original arrangement of different anime songs for the next few arrangements.
