The disparity between the meanings of the English and Japanese titles is something I find interesting. I think for one, the west doesn’t tend to have very long titles that often, at least when it comes to shows made here. Even in cases where the shows are from elsewhere, like with DanMachi / is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon (idk why I gave up on capitalization for that one) where the title was still extremely long, the translation was pretty true to the original title. Comparatively, and perhaps due to the nature of the original title involving the use of the word 奴隷 / dorei / slave, broadcasters might have wanted to avoid using that word in a title to avoid controversy? All just thoughts off the top of my head since I do find the disparity in meaning quite curious.

Literal translation: Slave Magic of An Evil Magic Lord from a Different Universe & (His) Summoned Girls (Summoner Girls? I’m assuming he summoned them so Summoned Girls?)
What we got: How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord

ok after giving it a shot myself -albeit one that lasted a few seconds – I couldn’t really think of anything better so How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is ok by me

As always, taking cover suggestions so drop em below~
