I was sad that a lot of the character development was removed, especially for Asuka and Kaji, but also for a lot of the side characters. In it’s place though, we get some new interactions, some of which were quite cute as well. The action of course is still brilliant.
Also, it seems we are already diverging heavily from the original series. Not only has the new girl Mari been introduced, but Kaworu as well, and it seems that Asuka is going down a completely new path…
Can’t wait to see how it develops!
