This is just a theory. But I think that the gears and weapons we saw in Donbrothers were originally going to be used for Zenkaiger before they decided to change it to the actual gear system seen in that show. But they didn't want to throw away the props they had already made so they decided to put them into Donbrothers.
it’s a real shame that they can’t use every single gear and they have to use it by color I kind of wish that if they had a sequel they get an upgrade and don doragoku can use 6th ranger gears and murasame has shark gear in the DX gear also instead of using it by color they should be able to transform without the restrictions of using by Color just like gokaiger Don momotaro transform To Zenkaiger Inu brother transform To zenkai jyuran to put this shortly I kind of wish that there’s no restrictions in every gear kind of similar to ranger key representing what color and what series
I actually disliked this feature because it's just a weaker version of Zenkaiger/Gokaiger. Also maybe the only reason it's there is maybe because Master (Kaito) was the one who created the Donblaster similar to his Geartlinger. But we can only speculate at this point.
