Why didn't you add the part where Tenn was crying about how the voices were to heavy for Riku and that they'll crush him. It broke my heart with how worried he was for his brother. And also the part where Kujo was practically dissing Riku. I really hate that part
Positively burst out laughing when I watched the exchange between Iori and Riku. Iori insults Riku and then follow up with the biggest compliment. Even Riku thinks the world must be ending if Iori's being nice like that, i.e. "Is it about to snow????" Haha. I'm glad Iori is able to speak his mind and that Riku is able to hear him out and put his trust in him. Their relationship really has grown. 🙂
The lightheartedness of that one part of the episode aside, I understand where Iori's anxiety is coming from, and that he is trying to mitigate it before anything happens, i.e. "Allow me to control you, Riku." I just think that there is so much foreshadowing when Riku says "Promise to not leave me behind, I won't leave others behind as well." This is already setting up for the the season after next (since, well, we're focusing on another member of the idol group next season). Iori has Riku's best interests at heart, but while Riku is more simpleminded and straightforward that most people (though he has grown so much in S3), my only concern is that Iori isn't as emotionally mature and knowledgeable about the playing field as he thinks. Momo has that in spades, knowing how to roll with the punches in the industry, and Tenn, who knows what it is like to make real sacrifices, read people, and yet keep a professional front at all times. And then there's the whole of Trigger who has been dragged through the mud, only to emerge as very mentally and emotionally strong and determined young men. Iori has shown in the past that he can be broken quite easily, i.e. missing his dance steps and being deeply affected by the lapse. Not only is Iori very hard on himself, i.e. his best quality as Tsumugi mentions is his "perfection," he doesn't have the mental fortitude or self awareness born of difficulty to rise above the way these four have. Not only that, you can't plan for everything that happens (although I love the fact that he tries his best to be analytical and objective). Still, I am rooting for him, if only just a bit skeptical. Do your best, Iori (and I hope Momo and the other more battle-hardened idol senpais will provide support for you and Riku and the rest of I7 when time comes that you need it).
Riku would fare better if Tenn could actually talk about "the Riku phenomenon" with him–perhaps, to start with, make an attempt to treat Riku less like the sickly younger twin who he thinks he must always protect and more like the person who is steadily evolving, doing his best, and becoming better at understanding other people. I think Tenn always leads with this logic and therefore justifies his actions to do things alone and in secret because he thinks no one else can take care of things, i.e he had to step up for Riku's health and for his family, then he had to step up and to this day, care for Kujo as well. Then add to that it's in his nature to care very deeply for others (e.g. his brother, as he does with Kujo, a truly kind and noble person). Because of what has been demanded of Tenn since the beginning, I don't think he is cognizant of the fact that what he really needs to do is to help people to become strong enough so that they themselves can navigate the difficult times; he can't keep saving people. While Tenn and Riku's relationship has improved (especially because now Riku understands why Tenn left all those years ago), I don't think Tenn will be able to do this though because he still needs to work on effectively communicating his intentions to Riku–he has so much to teach Riku if only he can let his guard down for a bit. Then again, this is Tenn we're talking about…his take on protecting others is to be unreadable (hence, the miscommunication), and to do things all by himself and at a distance from others, e.g. the issue with Kujo, his dynamic with Riku, etc. So yeah, while Tenn is amazing and I love him for doing his best for others, he's not exactly helping by taking on other people's burdens. But the interesting thing is that I believe he knows this–he just can't help himself, he doesn't like watching people suffer. Which breaks my heart because he truly is an angel, much more than how they describe him vs the monster analogy.
Riku pulling the stops when he sings "Secret Night" and creating such a deep impression on the audience clues in Tenn that Riku is fast approaching the point where the fans will have an obsession with him and what he represents. Riku will try to keep being a brighter and brighter star, until he won't be able to maintain the level of demand that the fans put on his shoulders. This worries me because Riku has no idea how unforgiving fans can be (Kujo referenced this in one of his lines), and I'm worried he'll crash and burn (not to mention, there's the physical burden on his body while trying to keep delivering). Tenn knows how to strike a balance between what is expected and what he can give, but Riku has no idea about his effect on people so he won't be able to keep it at bay—and I wager, Iori won't be as effective as he thinks when the time comes, although I am definitely happy that he'll attempt to do what he can for Riku and I7's sake.
I was so scared for Tamaki, I'm happy nothing happened ;-;
I can't wait for the next episode
Wow that episode had me sweating. I was like hyperventilating when Ryo revealed his plan I can't stand that man!! I was SOOOOOO SCARED especially knowing how S1 went I really hated that part and I felt for Tamaki. However Momo and Yuki are absolutely the MVPs in this episode. They put a complete stop to everything and I was screaming!! FRIENDS Day went off without a hitch. Iori and Riku'a conversation was…interesting to say the least. Riku is so innocent and trusting and Iori isn't trying to hurt him so they have this agreement. Iori saying "Let me Controll You." Is so dang straightforward 😂 I think let me "guide or coach" you would have been better but that's not Iori's way sksksks. Anyway, Riku and IDOLISH7 absolutely SLAYED Secret Night I was all for it. And Tennii crying um?? I was confused at first but then I realized what he meant. And I felt so bad. God I just want Tennii to hug Riku and they make up so bad been wishing for it since S1 LSKDKWMEKEJS. Anyway we always have the same thoughts I look forward to your videos haha!
hey where can i watch it, this ep is not avaible in my country, can u send me the link pleaseeeee
I saw someone theorise on Twitter the other day about Tamaki hearing his father. He is attuned to his voice because he had to always listen out for it so he could keep himself and Aya safe. It's also said that victims of abuse never forget certain sensations regarding their abusers, including their voices, so he would have been able to pick out his father even among the rest of the chatter.
first I was thinking I don't wanna watch this ep! I was so worried about what could happen… but wanting to see what happens win and I watched it!! I have mixed feelings about it but I loved the scene where momo and yuki turn the tables 😍👌
toma was smart or tsukumo was stupid I still don't know (maybe both) 😐😂
I really like riku but I can't help but worry about what kujo said… I hate him… but keep thinking like he said loving riku will end up in sadness. conflicted feelings here..
overall it was really interesting can't wait for the next ep!! 😍
