The Labour leader, Keir Starmer, travelled to the Ukrainian cities of Bucha, Irpin and Kyiv on Thursday, during a visit to meet president Volodymyr Zelenskiy. The trip is Starmer’s first to Ukraine since Russia invaded last year. Speaking to reporters, he emphasised Labour’s commitment to continue supporting Kyiv in its war with Russia, and the broader need to pursue justice and reparations against war crimes perpetrators. The Labour leader told reporters: ‘Should there be an election next year and a change of government, the position on Ukraine will remain the same.’

  9. Maximum force to get Russia out of the sovereign territory of Ukraine, Nuremberg style public trials of the perpetrators of war crimes, international arrest warrants for all senior Russian military, diplomats, and security services, and any person remotely involved in any organisation supporting Russian illegal war, war damage reparations using all the assets of the oligarchy and Russian state. Same with Belarus and Chechen leaders and anyone that took part in this illegal war, all arrested and put on trial. Until this is done, then the threat remains.

  10. How brave to go to the city of destruction without a helmet. Bombs galore, snipers, jets, it’s incredible. Unless of course the news has been in fantasy land again. It’s probably safer over there than it is here these days. It’s time someone bought Zelensky a suit or swapped his office for an Andersen shelter. Scruffy sod.
