i just got into berserk as of recent though i heard berserk for verylong time ago,every part of berserk scene in manga is too important to be remove as it will alter the storyline hence i don't even bother watching the anime as i heard that the adaptation missing some crucial part from the manga,every character plays their role as well so important that it should be part of the adaptation without removing any part of it.Except one part until sea god that's where thing a bit out of place but maybe imo it just to show us more about berserker armor and moonlight child and guts
Still don’t understand why the only do the golden age over and over. They easily can do the first arc and they just avoid it like if it stinks
I dont care about CGI quality half as much as other people do, but its still mind blowing to me that Berserk still doesnt have the adaptation it deserves. Like, how big anime studios like Ufotable or Mappa have not picked this series to completely adapt yet?
Berserk is so well known and inspired hundred of other series, not just in japan but in the west as well, and yet nobody tries to fully and properly animate it.
Stretching the aspect ratio to fit 16:9 does NOT look good. At least zoom in if you must fill the frame.
Imagine someone stringing together scenes from the movies, series, games, and manga pages (prob set to music) to tell the whole story

I think that if they should adapt a Berserk arc to a movie format, it should be the Lost Children Arc.
It is a self-conclusive arc with enough load of information to be covered in a movie.
Going by the Memorial Edition style, if they would animate everything else like this, as a tv-show I guess, though probably only 3/4 of all the characters/plotpoints/details, how many season would this need to reach the point of the newest Manga?
The extra scenes sound nice and all but every anime adaptation seems like it's still inferior to reading the manga. That's where the author's true vision was displayed in every way without fear of censorship, budget or runtime.
If you haven't read the manga (heck, even if you've never read a manga inf your life) do yourself a favor and try it!

@thealmightyLoli I think we have the technology to make a live-action to follow the manga to the T. I would like a big budget company take care of the story. Since the LAST OF US is doing so well and the fact that GOT did well i believe it needs to be done.
the berserk movies were my first exposure to the series so they still hold a special place in my heart, and honestly the cgi wasnt THAT bad, i think 2016/17 proves that point well. even though some points look pretty bad it has a unique feel to it that really ive only seen in the berserk movies, like the way the apostles animate is very otherworldy feeling whether intentionally designed or just poorly made. and cmon. guts vs the 100 soldiers was so god damn good. I hope berserk can get the adaptation it deserves eventually and maybe even get the voice actors from the movie to return as well since im biased towards them quite a bit. i love this series to pieces

I'm one of those weirdos who liked the 16/17 seasons. I get that some people just can't handle that art style, it was the same thing with zelda's wind waker and many other shows/games from that time. But I don't mind, and the rest of the content was pretty good. Whereas I did not like the movies, the speedrun element killed it for me. 90s still the best tho.
The Berserk and the Band of the Hawk game followed the Golden Age movies up until Guts started hunting the Apostles. All in all it wasn’t that bad, hell I even liked when I got Skull Knight’s horse and the Armor of the Berserk.
I discovered the movies on Netflix knowing nothing about Berserk so I didn’t know what was missing, and thought I got a pretty complete story. I’ve watched them a few more times now, and I’m currently through eight volumes of the deluxe edition mangas which each have three regular volumes in them. So I might be backwards but the movies got me to read the manga.

I've watched a lit of stuff about the memorial addition. I think im going to buy it finally, but i really hope that somehow we get a series of berserk where they go all out and do and animate 95 % or more of the manga… i know its not realistic, but i think berserk deserves it.

So am I just better off reading the manga? I wanted to watch the animes then pick up the story in the manga. I started memorial edition then switched over to '97 version (loved it). Just finished the 2016 anime (didn't love it; CGI was ass and where is my boy Guts' gains??) and am contemplating watching 2017 just to continue the story. I feel like I just answered my own question lol
