What is a great, small, affordable practice amp? I get that question all the time. The new Debut series of amps from Blackstar is going to be my new recommendation. At prices under $100 and just the right set of simple features, this amp ticks all the boxes for a sturdy, simple, great sounding amp. I love the Blackstar ID Core series, but this is a better price and still has the features you really need.

  1. I watch many practice amp demo and they usually sound good when mic up. This demo shows how a practice amp sounds like.

  2. But will it take pedals. I already have a katana mini that has all that on it and probably sounds better for a quick practice on the edge of the bed. Most people, even beginners would want to run an overdrive , distortion or a reverb for serious practice. That is a sharp looking amp and thanks for the heads up on the products. I would consider buying it just because it looks cool.

  3. I just looked it up on Amazon they are $109.00 now. Still not bad price tho. I got one that came with my guitar not the greatest one.

  4. I've always wanted a blackstar amp. I'll have to save up for one for my next amp. Also what a gorgeous guitar that was!! I'm on their site right now checking out their guitars! Thanks again Max! Your videos are always good! 🍻🎸☮

  5. I have a Blackstar ID Core 100. It is a great modelling amp and it is loud. I purchased it for $300 Australian pre owned. I also splurged on the added foot pedal which allows you to switch amp and effects settings and make use of a built in looper and tuner. Really nice amp. Well worth it.

  6. I'm glad to see more reviews of different amps that are out there. I feel like amplifiers are underepresented. Everyone reviews the same ones over and over.

  7. I always prefer rooster-head knobs. There's never a need to lean in and read teeny numbers – I can look across the room and see the settings… all of our eyes get worse over time, and rooter-head knobs are wonderfully kind for that! I too echo the JOY of having a standard power-cable. My example is that, for many, amps stack against some wall, barely moving and power cables get dropped down behind shelves, amps, whatever – and yanking out one particular power-brick is a hassle. And leaving it behind is soooo easy to do.

  8. Looks like they put the Fly3 circuitry into a bigger box. I have the Fly3 and it's pretty good through headphones. Its tape delay is really good.

  9. For the money, you can't go wrong with this one. I wonder how it compares to the Spark? I bought one of those and found a download (on line) of Mike Campbell clean tone that was pretty good. But, when I downloaded one for the Edge (U2) and Streets with No Name, it left a lot to be desired. But, then I'm not Edge either…

  10. Great vid,as usual.great playing.he holds back too BECAUSE he’s more about demoing the equipment THEN SHOWING OFF and shit.dude rules.Really dig Blackstar too.if Darth Vader played,he’d totally rock Blackstar.especially over Marshall.

  11. Dude. I love your channel. You're a fantastic player. But the Roland micro cube is the best practice amp. EVER. I've had mine since 2008 and it's still going strong.

  12. The Debut reminds me of the Kustom Dart, an excellent practice amps. I'm always amazed how great mine sounds. I also bought the Kustom Mod20 which is definately worth a look with 25 built in amp models for around $100.00. But I'll still have to check out the Balckstar next time I go to GC. Thanks for the recommendation. And how's the "Titanium Reign" album coming along? Looking forward to it.
