Tsukisto keeps working on the lyrics for their new song, but they are also working hard on Kotono’s birthday surprise plans, doing big efforts to keep everything secret from her.
All seems to be going as planned, but Kotono is very perceptive and seems to suspect something is up.
Trivia corner:
Near the end of the chapter when Suzu tells Kotono to “you just watch and feast your eyes at our gifts”, she does so in a very haughty way, expressing herself in what would be considered rude in the context of her being younger than Kotono, couple this to the fact that in Japanese culture, the one offering a gift normally behaves in a humble way, to recognize the receiving party as the important one in the exchange.
This is why Kotono mentions the phrasing is a bit out of place before thanking her.
