  1. These are beautiful pens! The 3776 is gorgeous- I got one recently and couldn't find it for under $250 but it was well worth it. Have you tried the Opus 88 demonstrator? I got the holiday jazz version and it's gigantic. Maybe you'd prefer the bigger model. Looking forward to your over $200 video!

  2. I find that the medium platinum nibs still write fairly great like a western medium but that really all depends on the ink you put in it. Such a beautiful smooth writer though, I want a platinum fine to see how it writes.

  3. I only have the 3776 and the Talisman from your selections. The Platinum I have writes dry. There is a lot of feedback in the nib. Mine is a soft fine. It is very bouncy but not much line variation.

The Ranga is still more like a club, lol. Still thinking about getting it.

The Benu Talisman is perhaps the best of the group. So beautiful is the resin and it writes like a dream. I thought this would be your #1 pen.

I sold my Vac700R. For whatever reason I found the PenBBS 469 to be better.

I am also thinking of the Koloro. I had a Bela at one point but was not comfortable to me. I may consider this pen, though.

  4. Here are 5 from my collection:
    Franklin-Christoph Model 20
    Kaweco Special
    Pilot e95s
    Sailor Pro Gear Slim Mini
    Sailor 1911s

  5. I have a couple many of these and I agree they're worthy of inclusion on this list. My fav of this bunch is my Benu (mine is actually the Benu Euphoria Jazz). It is the best writer in my collection and the schmidt (M) nib out performs many more expensive pens. It just writes great out of the gate every time (and perfectly pairs with Monteverde Ocean Noir). I've kept it inked and used since I got it in Feb 22. I also really like my Opus 88 (mine is the Opera with a F) and my 3776. Good list!
