Listen to Chopin’s “Fantaisie Impromptu” played by Daniil Trifonov. Daniil Trifonov’s new album contains Chopin’s two beautiful piano concertos in fascinating new orchestrations by pianist-conductor-composer Mikhail Pletnev. Alongside the concerts Trifonov presents Chopin’s solo works and pieces by Mompou, Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, and Barber paying homage to the genius who, in Trifonov’s words, “revolutionized the expressive horizons of the piano.”

  1. Du magnifique Chopin pour piano, des sons en cristaux distillés admirablement. Un grand compositeur, par un très grand jeune pianiste. FÉLICITATIONS, la mission artistique est convaincante.

  2. Hey, why you all say it cringe?
He just add some story when he played, its a real song

  3. You'd think they could have afforded a better venue, when he walks in and looks around it's like wtf

  4. La musique exprime ce qui ne peut être dit et sur quoi il est impossible de rester silencieux. Victor Hugo

  5. Something about modern pianists frustrates me, not only their horrible style, but their super inflated ego, which surpasses that of the Russian pianist Sviatoslav Richter.. when their playing is so much the worse.

  6. Wonderfull performance. Music is assoication, storys, tears, yes!

  7. The big problem with classical music…no new music. Even the best interpretation isn't enough to overcome the fact that we've heard it before.

  8. Soundtrack to a dream. This has the qualities of an anthem, perhaps to humanity and the struggles we endure. What would life be without music; what would it be without Chopin? This is what it means to be immortal. Chopin was God's gift to the world, among many.

  9. Daniil, you show great promise at this early stage. Overall, a very good sound. One thing i would suggest, there's a great temptation to slow down in the quiet passages. If you're having difficulty keeping a steady beat in your head, consider using a metronome.

In general, though, I'm convinced one day you'll make the concert stage. Keep it up!

  10. У Вас волшебные руки и слух!!! Исключительный талант ! Когда слушаю ваше исполнение как в сказку погружаюсь. Спасибо Вам!

  11. Бог создал Землю, человека. Человек ответил ему подобным.

  12. the story behind the music damn, I never imagined that when I play it

  13. this is great but why did the editor have to intersperse it with shots of him having a piss
