  1. Love this pen and have been seriously considering getting one! How many pens have you reviewed and then decided it to buy one for yourself?

  2. Very curious about this pen since I've known of it. As for Q&A, what did you feel/think when you used your first gold nib?

  3. In regard of the room in the forbidden city that TWSBI is named after, it is called 三希堂 (San Xi Tang), meaning “room of the three rare treasures”. It was a small study of the emperor. I’m not sure if it is open to the public, but Trump did have a conversation with Xi in it during his trip to China in 2017. Good luck finding it.

  4. I always enjoy those extra tidbits we learn during your reviews. For Q&A: I'm somewhat new to your channel so I apologize if you've been asked this 101 million times…when and how did you come to love fountain pens?

  5. It certainly looks interesting. I'm wondering if you have used other eyedropper filled pens and whether you had any problems (leaking, burping) with them.

  6. I recently saw that pen online and I find it very interesting I hope I can try it soon, thanks for review and giveaway. For the Q&A maybe your experiences with the eyedroppers?

  7. I’ve been eyeing the demonstrator model lately! Interestingly, the demo model uses a #6 nib, is larger, and does not post.

Q&A: How many hours per week do you spend to upload/manage your channel? How much time do you typically spend with a pen / ink / item before you feel comfortable reviewing it?

  8. Thank you for this review! This pen has been on my radar for a couple months, but I've been hesitant… I'm a bit closer to a purchase now.
My question: Do you review all pens that are sent to you by retailers/manufacturers? If you don't, how do you decide which pens to review?

  9. Thanks for the review! What innovations do you hope to happen in the fountain pen space?

  10. You're supposed to pull the piston back when you fill it. No problem filling it with the supplied eyedropper. That's why they provide the eyedropper. Returning the piston to forward position helps to remove air bubbles from the ink which supposedly cuts down on 'burping'.

I've watched a few of your video reviews, which leads to the question: Do you actually know anything about pens?

  11. The Sanxi tang (三希堂, Hall of Three Rare Writing Pieces), after which TWSBI is named, is not hard to find in the Forbidden City. It is located in the Yangxin dian (養心殿, Palace of Mental Cultivation) and was the study room of the Qianlong emperor (reign time: 1735-1796). The emperor got many rare calligraphy collections there.
I will also be in Beijing this summer. Probably we can do a meetup! ;D

  12. What ink color do you have in the TSBI 700? Apple Glory? I remember you said you like that color before.

  13. I normally don't write reviews but after seeing this video , i could not resist to share my experience.

Boy, this pen is special to me!

This may be the cheapest pen I own but it is definitaly the one with the most value for its price.

    Why is that?
    1) The pen has a very fresh, unique and non-snobby design. Ideal for everyday writing.
    2) For my hands, it has almost the perfect size and thickness. Except for my Nakaya Piccoli, I have never found another pen before which matches my hands and being comfortable so close as this one.
    3) Fun and unique filling mechanism
    4) Penbody is light weight, but doesn' t feel cheap at all. Nib = Ok
    5) Price = Value

    Just try it!

  14. Just got one of these, a blue one, with a broad nib and am enjoying it very much. The nib on this one is really very nice.

  15. The company is called opus 88 as they started to produce under their own brand since 1988, minguo year 88 is actually 1999

  16. I covet this pen even if that’s sinful avarice. 😀 It’s such a distinctive, stylish beauty, that I’m determined to get it (if it’s still available) the soonest I can. I mainly want the demonstrator and also the one that David reviews here. The Opus 88 is the reason why I can never vow to not buy another fountain pen again.

  17. Hi, i have been watching your videos and i want to apreciate your efort and work👏. Can you recommend a good pen with a steel nib but with more flex than usual. I already have diamond aero, twsbi, and lamy all stars but they are pretty stiff nibs. Thanks

  18. I appreciate you mentioning that the look of the pen would be improved if the section was also ebonite. That is also a question for me while I'm looking at grabbing one.
