Today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Trump-era Covid policy that allows border officials to turn away asylum-seekers — otherwise known as Title 42 — will remain in effect for the time being. One of the states petitioning to keep Title 42 in place was Texas, whose governor, Greg Abbott, warned of ” total chaos,” if the policy ended. The same Greg Abbott who apparently spent the holiday weekend dialing up the cruelty in yet another political stunt. They had thousands of children's in cages dying, and separated from their families, just horrific, and not a single bus load of tired lost people were sent to sanctuary cites. Why not then and why now? the crisis is still the same, but because we have Democrats in power they need a show. Foolish, and sad. Every time I see interviews with these "asylum seekers" they always mention economic opportunity in the United States. But this isn't a valid reason to circumvent normal U.S. immigration policy. If they are coming from the central American northern triangle, they've already passed from the presumed peril from their home country, leading me to the conclusion that NONE of them are actually seeking legitimate asylum. The humane thing to do is that we no longer take southern border asylum seekers. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

Title 42 is a JOKE. USA Covid deaths is 1,116,365 and Mexico's is 331,030. Migrants are the ones at risk.

I can see from the remarks below people focused on small parts of the total picture to make their points. America has problems, I do not deny this. The homeless citizens in America should be a concern. I have seen the other side of this too, some are homeless cause they want to be. Some use homelessness as a job of its own by holding cups and signs at intersections asking for money. Some of these people take advantage and would have no problem holding a job. The issue at hand here is when you use people who are fleeing hardships in there home lands and then using them as pawns in political stunts. America is a country that should be proud of the good it does in the world. When it plays games like this it is shameful.
Moreover when a country like America does things like this to people from other lands, what is there to stop them from doing it to you. You could say laws, however laws only work if they are abided . If anything I have learned in the past 5 years, is a part of the Republican is okay with a serious authoritarian rule…..
