  1. Its funny your persona is a legit race in this world. I need to check what its called lmao so many race names its hard to keep track. And no humans actually. The oddest mystery is we dont know the doctor's race.

  2. Also Doctor is Androgynous by design.

I will say the adaptation is not one to one. It felt more chaotic in the game. Because it felt like you were always getting caught but also makes u think at that point who fuckin thought of this rescue plan.

  3. This world (Terra) is different btw. Based on the rainbow six siege collab: our Lord Tachanka tried to instruct Rhodes Island on how to make gun powder. But this world's so different that it fuckin doesnt work for some reason.

There are guns in this world but they work by using arts. Basically everything is a magical staff.

Ive only played like 5-6 months and havent spent really but i really love the lore.
I hope you'll give it the 3 or 4 episode rule. But ye

  4. So, uh, FYI… Girls Frontline did get an anime lol
It's called "Dolls Frontline" due to some licensing tomfuckery, but it most definitely exist
Also, funny thing, Arknights is made my ex-Mica devs. Couple characters in Arknights (like W) were supposed to be GFL characters initially

  5. Time to answer some questions!
Kemonomimi — everybody is some sort of a non-human. Even Ace is a lizard-person
GFL — as I already mentioned in my other comment, Lowlight left Mica due to some disagreements and founded Hypergryph, thus, birthing Arknights
Comparison to the game — the presentation in the game is much more rough. The anime fixes a lot of the issues the game's story had. The story remains the same, but there's some additions and some shifting the events around
Gachas without amnesia — Punishing Gray Raven and Alchemy Stars come to mind
Oripathy — we'll learn more about it in episode 2. Tl;dr is that it's basically rock cancer that will kill you, but until it does it can either give you superpowers or can set your heart on inextinguishable fire you have to live with. A coin toss lol
Terra vs Earth — Terra, the world of Arknights, is largely unspecified, although it has multiple moons. We know very little about the planet, especially since the North is inhabited by demons and the South is an ocean inhabited by lovecraftian horrors
Guns — won't be answered in the anime, so not a spoiler. Chemistry on Terra is ever so slightly different, they never discovered gunpowder because it simply doesn't work. There are guns, but they're powered with Originium
Catastrophes — random storms, meteor showers, and what not. The common thing between them? They bring Originium to the surface and spread oripathy around. Imagine a hurricane in Florida, but everybody in its path gets explosive leukemia
Similarities to ads — the anime is made by their own, in-house studio, Yostar Pictures. They also make all the trailers, PVs, etc
Dokutah — Dokutah's gender is never specified. Even the voice actress they hired to voice them is one known for voicing androgynous characters
Drones — seeing how surprised Guard was, I assume they were in his bag
Operator names — they use codenames. We know real names of some operators, Dobermann is one of the ops whose real name we don't know. Probably has something to do with her being ex-military from an equivalent of Latin America

  6. I know gacha games have bad wrap (I mean I hate them myself), but Arknights really is different. Unlike other gacha games, the devs created the studio and game (AK) specifically to share their ideas for a world and story. It's unfortunate it's gacha game, but the main purpose of it is to tell the story. Money (for the most part) is secondary. In fact as much as you joke, AK is incredibly generous unlike majority of gacha games and is very F2P friendly. There's several pity mechanics and you can beat entire content with the lowest rarities of operators. I started out free to play and game pretty much made me want to spend money on it for how generous and fun to play it is. Its gameplay is actually pretty good, if you like this type of strategic games. It's technically tower defense, but it's actually more complicated than that and it can be actually really challenging.

About which type of anime it is, you're actually wrong. It's third type. The one that actually is proud of its story and wants everyone to experience it. Nobody from players want to see it. The chapters 0-3 (the ones anime will cover) are considered the weakest of the story, since game devs were only starting to get the hang of it (it's their first game after all). If it wanted to just animated the cool parts for players, it'd adopt chapter 6, 7 or 8. Those are the ones people want to see the most and it'll take a lot of time before we'll get there, so if it was anime made just for players to see their favorite moments, it's failing miserably.

Before anime was even a idea, they were already making a tone of free, promotional material to just hype people up. They're making PVs for every event and sometimes even make full 3D animated teaser. Also they keep to collaborate with different artists and releasing free songs for characters etc. for no other reason just because they want to. They even label them all as made by fictional, in-story music studio. That's how passionate they're about their game. So this anime is honest, passion project. Sure they want it to succeed and bring in more people, but also they just want to share the story with more people and the best and most accessible way to do it is in anime format.

As for story itself, anime adopts the story of the game very well. We were unceremoniously throw into action as well and were given very little information, game mostly just leaving most stuff for us to figure out ourselves. And no, it does not adopt any tutorial stages. Some basic terms are explained in loading screens, but that's assuming you read them + they switch too fast, I always ended up only reading first half, so anime actually already gave way more information and explanation than game did at that point, making it very friendly to people who didn't play the game.

I personally think anime is doing a great job on juggling between moving the story forward and giving exposition. Some things you need to just accept on face value and/or wait patiently for anime to explain it later, but honestly that's every fictional story ever. Imo if first episode was just slowly introducing you to the world and methodically explaining everything to you, it'd be much more boring and slow paced than what we got. And it's going to get much better in episode 2 and further, as once all the new concept gets explained, we'll be able to just focus on the story. As for why they didn't explain everything to Doctor back then. Probably because they're in the active warzone they need to get away from asap, so no time to chit-chat. They were catching a breather, but that's it. That's also why it looks post-apocalyptic and everything is abandoned. The city is literally under attack of Reunion, so most people already got the f out of there or got killed.

Arknights really is unlike all the other gacha games. The story isn't all about powerful characters ducking it out and anime fighting (although there's some of that too). It's much more down to earth, focused on tactics, working as a team and living in society. Also depression. Lots of depression from themes of abuse, exploitation and rejection. So I assume when most people hear "adaptation of gacha game" they expect over the top fights and waifus, but Arknights really isn't about it. It has fights and it has waifus, but story surrounding them is much more important. On that topic AK is actually one of the better games in that regard, as it never sexualizes their characters and every single one of them is a actual person that have their own live and place in the world.

  7. the game take place in fantasy world, there is no normal "human", every race is based on animal.

well you can listen their music they created for 6* operator, since the game is known for sad stories and the music.

  8. but if the doctor doesn't know anything he won't think girl with bunny ears is wrong? he will just assume all human should have anime ear
