This is just my theory: I don't think Lu Guang is truly dead DEAD. Like, maybe his fate is just uncertain and Cheng Xiaoshi will find a way to save him. Also, the new poster doesn't have to automatically correlate to funerals and death just because Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling are the only one wearing black while Lu Guang isn't. Instead, it could mean that Lu Guang is in a different timeline versus those two or it could mean that he plays a huge important role in the story. Either way, I hope Lu Guang truly doesn't die. We literally don't know much about his character. It should be his time to shine.

Was excited about season 2 but don’t know how I feel about it now. I see at least in this trailer it’s pushing it’s action scenes Chen Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling doing kungfu. I just kinda hope it doesn’t give up its supernatural/thriller identity to become another action flick.
