  1. The eclipse was really well represented in the movie trilogy even compared to 97 berk, the music and even having skull knight involved was a better representation of the manga imo. Totally agree with Griffiths descent into the abyss and how that was portrayed, it has such an eerie dreamlike quality and again the music choice for that scene only added to the unsettling nature of it all. Once all the episodes are released with this memorial edition I'll check it out for sure but I thought the movies which they are sourcing from have some very good strong points over the 97 anime. One of my favorites being the scene when Griffith is alone in the torture cell and the little demon things climb through a crack in the wall and he sees the godhand for the first time but it's passed off as an hallucination, I think the same chanting music from the decent toward the idea of evil during the eclipse was used in that scene as well.

  2. Small correction, in the origianl movie Judeau doesn't actually say anything before he collapses, they added him finally saying those last words to Casca before he dies. I'm glad they did that. I do wish they would've added Gaston and Gut's final scene together, but at least this time around I remembered and cared for Gaston. Overall for me episode was an 8.5/10.

  3. I love how you are watching people go trought hell on earth and you are calling it cute and gorgeous.

  4. I liked these changes and the additional content for the Memorial Edition but I don't think that all this is worth the price of 36,600 yen (about 275 euros), even if it is a limited edition. I already have the limited edition Blu-rays (Berserk 1997 and the three movies), and they cost me much less (52 and 79 euros each). What do you think of this Blu-ray edition? Will it sell out quickly?

  5. It never gets easier watching this. No matter what version be it past or present.
I was in the bookstore with my girl the other day. She had just gotten into anime after dating me and wanted to check out some manga. The berserk manga was staring her in the face and asked me "what's this?" With the single most serious look on my face I told her "do not read this. Unless you like Gore. The author of this book drew what Hell would look like in this book…" She looked away after that.

Good thing I watch stuff like Hellsing, Gantz, Berserk, and Junji Ito. Otherwise we both would've walked into something we weren't ready for.

  6. Dammit, watching this makes me want to buy Berserk and the Band Of The Hawk game. At least give it a discount sale dammit!

  7. Dang the guts rage moment when he sees the regular apostles holding casca was skipped again, would’ve been badass with the newer animations
