I hope the manga will get picked back up in the West. Viz did that for JoJo’s and Fist so hopefully Bastard!! and maybe Guyver will get considered.
Is it a remake of the old one or a continuation? Either way I am looking for the return of Dark Schneider ! Love the old one even bought the dvds hope this is a bit longer with a bit more story I remember the Ice guy is the only one to not fight so he lives would love it to have a more extended version. Looks so good.

Is Bastard gonna be featured for Netflix Asia?
Some of the best news i have gotten in a long time! Big Bastard!! fan here, still have my OVA DVD, VHS and still have my Manga and posters, i have been waiting and hoping for this for a very long time! The love still burns for this fun, raw, dark and magical adventure! Bring it on! 🙂

Maybe, for the anime reboot, even after the trailer was released, as consultant, Hagiwara (and his current assistants, maybe) should help the studio to:
– Continue the manga's story through the anime's writing until they can have better anime-original ending.
– Break the anime as seasons, instead of being non-stop ongoing like One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, and/or Naruto, so that the studio can have more time (between seasons) to improve the manga's story and animation.
– Solve/fill the manga's plot holes with the right original stories provided by Kazushi Hagiwara and people who loved/cared about the manga.
– Fix the names for the sake of wider audience or respecting copyrights (why not).
– Reinvent characters along with their origins, arcs, and/or motivations, without betraying the manga fans (for example, Lushe, as Dark Schneider, has the same dream with Yoko, but this time, the nightmare turns on him, like the whole world turns on him for being trampled by him. After then, Lushe from chapter 1 regains old memories earlier as Dark Schneider after waking up, and acts more like one, which changes his life and everyone's perceptions around him even more. After regaining his old memories, Lushe is no longer bumbling, whiny, and clueless kid anymore, but a normal boy/guy with mature brain who can still understand better about any situation that happens around him and can deal with it by using his head, even without having his old powers as Dark Schneider).
– Replace our real world as main setting with alternate (formerly futuristic) planet that is similar but also different.
– Remake Christian characters as more different deities that are also inspired by real life myths or histories (Norse, Greek, Chinese, or whatever, but Norse myth could be the most fitting)
– Fix/rewrite the adult contents to be more tame or understandable than annoying.
– Explore more about main conflicts (men vs gods, good vs evil, truth vs lies, science vs nature, power vs weakness, love vs hate, forgiveness vs revenge, magic vs religion, law vs crime, angels vs devils, fidelity vs infidelity, purity vs corruption, courage vs cowardice, or whatever).
OMG YES! Taniyama-san said it best. This is the perfect time for Dark Schneider to return. The VA casting for this sounds perfect for these iconic characters. I missed out on the Manga and saw the 90s OAV and wished it had continued. I hope we get english reprints of the Manga.
