9:26 If my interpretation (and I think a lot of fan's interpretations) are correct, The Irene-verse is like the original without the influence of Pucci causing Part 6. This would mean that parts 1-5 happen effectively as it does normally. So Jotaro has his stand and has to deal with it to a degree, but the danger he and Irene are in is much less due to the lack of Pucci and Dio's remnants after Part 3
Hot take but I don’t like the idea that the experiences that defined who these characters became essentially get overwritten and they instead live out these idealized versions of their lives. These characters exist as they are as a result of their problems and I feel like removing that from them is a hollow way of ending their stories. I was never given the impression that the Joestar moniker was this “curse” that permanently tied them to DIO, especially when characters like Josuke and Giorno exist, who basically fuck off from that feud entirely. Thus I don’t think it carries enough thematic weight to justify the fact that I’m watching these characters die for what I’m pretty much perceiving to be nothing. I think the deaths themselves are handled fairly well. I loved Jotaro’s and Jolyne’s deaths, but Anasui’s offscreen bleeding out and Hermès getting her arms cut off after being absent for half the goddamn story felt disrespectful to me. Also the fact that so much confusion exists regarding the ending, to the point where people need to fucking headcanon whether or not characters they like are still alive and that the events of the prior parts still happened is I think a fault in the story’s writing. It’s not clearly defined enough as to whether or not Pucci dying and the universe resetting without him is the same “being able to see your own fate” universe that Pucci himself created, so it’s literally just whatever you wanna believe. I don’t like that lack of closure. I think there are some elements it gets right. I’m not opposed to something like the Joestars finally being free of DIO, but the idea of that being done by creating a universe where the events of the story I just watched simply did not happen doesn’t sit right with me. Maybe I’m splitting hairs and these critiques don’t matter but idk it’s just not something I can bring myself to call “the perfect ending.”
It's a great tie to the end, but I wish the heroes had a more dreadful and emphasized death, instead of only getting a brief panel of them. It's their end of suffering after all
I absolutely love the part 6 ending so so much. It’s so melancholy yet still somewhat satisfying but so sad for emporio to lose all of his original friends technically. I do however not like the part 6 fanbase. They’re very bleach fan like where they have to act like a victim and take any form of criticism as an attack and say shit like “you just hate it because the sheeple do” even though part 6 isn’t perfect. No part, even part 7 isn’t perfect I mean that first half, like first 20 or 30 chapters of part 7 was very bad in forgettable enemies aspect
The ending was so good! Even though Netflix did the series dirty, I feel that the story got a good ending, and Roundabout as the outro theme just killed it!
Nah bad ending bad writing fandom makes excuses araki goes ok whatever works
I was wondering why your intro’s sound is so familiar. It’s from bhool bhulaiyaa!
how does joylene and emporior have that convo underwater? have you ever spoke underwater? "gurggle gurglgle gurgle"
I can keep it simple: Everything before Part 6 still happened. Really the only difference is Pucci is no longer around to carry out DIO's plan of achieving heaven. Joseph still sent Ultimate Kars into space, Jotoro still defeated DIO, Kira got devoured by the ghosts of Morioh, and Diavolo got sent into an infinite death loop by GER.
Just that with Pucci no longer existing, Joline (Irene) and the rest no longer have to deal with him and thus are given better lives as a result. You might even call it fate's reward. I think Araki said it as well that everything still happened as it did normally with the only changes being Pucci is no longer around and the rest of the Stone Ocean gang got happier lives.
I loved the ending also Please do a video on Jailhouse lock
This is a thing only if you are italian and you have watch part 6 in italian, you can get when Pucci says to Emporio that their fate is chosen, he use the same word Diavolo use during traitor requiem op "nessuno può sfuggire al destino scelto", so we can connect pucci's dream to Diavolo's ability/phrase
i woudnt say that the ending is perfect in its self, its perfect as a set up for what comes after it(even tho araki-sensei said that we re not following the universe emporio saw in part 7 and 8 in my mind we do).
Actually, Rohan was mentioned during the finale when they were showing that random manga artist who couldn't keep up with the deadlines, he receives a call in which he's told that there's one person who can keep up with the deadlines – Kishibe Rohan. I think that was a nice little detail.
The way I see it, is that pucci reset the universe twice. – once while chasing emporio and another when he was trying to kill emporio in his ghost room. The first time not a lot changed except there was new variants of everyone who died in the time acceleration as pucci states, then he also purposely says that he sped things up back to when emporio was in green dolphin prison so he could easily kill him. Then when he dies during the 2nd time skip, leaving him behind and creating a new variant of him, (with emporio still being alive) the universe reset at the beginning – and then proceeded to play normally. Emporio when he was born I reckon could instinctually know and remember what already happened – and he escaped from the prison around the same time they did the first time and met up with all of the gang – introduced himself and they all went to cape canaveral together – then Im guessing the credits show that everything happened the same apart from part 6 which shows us the new irene time line instead of the jolyne timeline. Then part 7 happens probably maybe a couple million universe resets later which is why we get to see new versions of johhny (johnathon), Joseph and josuke and kira and even dio
Does Irene have a stand still or not? I’m still pretty confused by it
It’s a good ending (for Jojo.) But it’s not the same, the Jotaro we knew for 3 seasons just reset into a good father.. not to mention nobody had or has stands. (Alright maybe a joestar or two had a stand) but it’s as if everybody had a normal life as some bystander. (I know they didnt otherwise the Pillarmen from season 2 would’ve ruled earth!)
i think its pretty clear that the new ireneverse has only had all victims of Made in Heaven recieve new bodies with their old souls, while everyone else were the exact same person as before. I also believe they would eventually come to form the same memories and experiences, awaken their stands, and even emporio with his memories of jolyne, anasui and the rest would eventually figure out a middle ground between what happened before Made in Heaven and the reality he found himself in. with all the things he has in his ghost rooms he may even have been able to convince them that he wasn't insane, but thats just what i think happened.
It's Louis (Loo-E) Armstrong btw, good vid tho
To me, Jojo villains represent this perspective of life as a terrible unpredictable existence meant to be conquered, controlled. To them, man is to be dominant in order to exert power and achieve its potential. The joestars represent justice, as is repeated so many times, because they protect those who the villains prey on but also seek to empower them through hope. Humanity doesnt need to trascend or be prepared against any misfortune for the potential for good lies within itself and how it chooses to live. Dominance over life just turns you into its opressor and forces others to live according to your rules.
Now that Part 6 has ended, we are one step closer to real Heaven; Part 7 anime. [sings in Pizza Mozzarella-rella-rella]
That ending did something quite unique to me, to made me cry out of joy. Not from a character death, which is usually a good way to get my eyes balling. Also, I was already starting to really like Emporio, especially with Jolyne's being like his big sister, so I was sad to not get more of him, but that ending elevated him even more for me; I'll just say it, Emporio is best boy.
imo I think pucci should've won
Tbh the ending was good since Josuke & Giorno won't have to live the fate of the Joestar for the rest of their lives thanks to the Kujo's
7:24 ungalo rykiel and donatella
astronomical ending
I think of it in this way. Fate is an actual driving force in the jojo verse. And the joestars are chosen as it's guardians. Everytime someone tries to transcend fate or change their destiny fate calls the joestars to deliver its judgment on them. It happened from DIO to kars to kira to diavolo and eventually Pucci. THIS is the joestar curse. The curse you always fight for justice. To never live a normal life to always acts as the sentinel of fate even if it doesn't involve them. This concept of fate was ironically broken in the new universe after Pucci's death when jolyne got named as irene hence breaking the joestar curse. Pucci ironically freed the joestsrs from their cursed fate. Fate has no longer any need for them. They can finally live in this wonderful world
Would've loved if they just showed every jojo just going on with their usual life at the end in new universe even kishibe rohan got mentioned but still this part was perfect story and animation wise. Wasn't a big fan of Netflix releasing strategy
imagine jotaro in the rebirth universe is named "Qtaro"
Im just glad that anime showed FF in the clouds at the end unlike the anime, made me cry even more
no no no its not it is very bad and was made in like a week
to me the ending was confusing cuz i didn't really take all the shit you said into consideration, simply because i never thought of these things like that , also i know what a wonderful work by Armstrong and truly is a masterpiece , however if it weren't for this video , i would have never tied it to jojo unless there was a stand by that name or something to put it in , the ending was confusing , good , but confusing , too confusing ,mainly due to me rushing to finish the anime to read steel ball run cuz it's the only part i couldn't read , i couldn't get over how slow and boring the manga was , sorry sue me , it's how i feel about it ,and also because of how netflix fucked it up by splitting to three parts , by the time i started the second part i forgot pretty much everyone except for the few obvious ones , and the story was bad , the writing was weird , not the bizarre atmosphere jojo always had , it was just weird and unfitting , this part was bad , even animated i hardly managed to watch it all , i did , all 3 parts of part 6 , and the confusing ending made the bad go worst , this video redeems some of that lost quality in the anime , but boy is part 6 lacking
Part 6 : Wonderful ending
Part 7 : Why am I still here
Edit : oda fucked up the ending so badly
it's interesting seeing someone positive towards this ending. Most people I've seen talk about it hate it.
Irene hair’s awesome
One big question I had (me only watching the anime and not reading the manga) is what happened to Josuke Higashikata? Pucci seemed really adamant of ending the Joestar line and even if he killed Jotoro and Jolyne, Josuke would still live on. So did Josuke get carried over to the reset universe like Emporio, or did he somehow die and get reset like the other characters and have an alternate version of him. Also what happened to Joseph Joestar? He was pretty elderly in Part 4 and not sure what happened to him (again I only watch he anime and not read the manga).
How does pucci’s hair not grow?
Irene is a Joestar, the pinnacle of love and care for others, but she is not burdened with the fate of being a jojo destined to do battle with Dio and his lackeys. In this new universe, Pucci never existed, and therefore, all of Dio's underlings are directionless or dead. Finally, the Joestars have been freed from the Jojo curse.
In the latest universe, did the events of part 6 (w/ no Pucci) get erased or did the entirety of part 3-6 get erased?
My only biggest question and possibly the biggest plothole is, Where the hell is Giorno? Couldn't he just GER made in heaven's time acceleration? The other characters, I understand because they're literally on the other side of the globe when this happened, but Giorno? His stand affects reality itself no matter where he is. So I don't know why he just went "Oh time is accelerating? Guess I'll die." Especially after all he went through to achieve his dream in part 5.
it’s a good ending i just don’t like how it’s not in the same universe but it wouldn’t be good for emporio because everyone died :/
People who hate batch release are sub lovers, sub lovers hate Netflix because it stops them from pirating weekly and talking to other pirates about the show they’re pirating.
Seriously, it’s like listening to old people complaining about how their tv show isn’t on weekly and they miss the paper tv guide and they can’t discuss the shows they like with the other old people in the retirement home.
You are so good at using your reaches to give the villains more depth than they actually have lol. With pucci and kira being the only exceptions, the villains just wanted power for powers sake. Thats it. They all got their power ups, with kira being the only one that wasnt actively seeking to be stronger, so i cant give pucci props for being some ultimate culmination of all of the villains. Except for kira, they were all the same damn character with the same motivations, but with different levels of charisma. They even all had time altering abilities! The ending is only perfect because it resets the universe, which was getting WAY out of hand.. Breaking its own rules that it set for itself, powers getting increasingly ridiculous and unexplainable within the "one power per stand" rule. This ending was bred out of necessity, not creativity.
The only part about the ending I didnt like was that creep Anasui who couldnt take no for an answer and I guarantee would have tried to rape jolyne eventually if they hadnt dies winds up getting her in the new universe. I hate that
I personally don't like this at all…
Wonder if giorno and Joshuke ar3 alive since their powers are creating and one is reversing
the ending similar style of netflix series DARK thats why i love this ending
I've heard that fate is manifested through gravity and that time is intertwined with it, so whomever controls time can by extension control fate, no wonder most main villains had a time manipulation power
Literal God stand: *exists*
Oxygen: Imma end this mans whole career
And that's why you should breathe air.
It’s definitely not perfect but I guess it’s a way to end the anime series since steel ball was confirmed to not be animated
The thing of "Why didn't Jotaro call x or y character" kinda irks me. Jotaro and the Speedwagon foundation would only probably feel the need to call ppl such as Giorno Josuke Okuyasu etc. when Pucci was at the point where he was at the visitor centre, aka when his gravity power manifested in C-Moon. The problem with this is that first of all, Giorno being a gang leader would take some time to get hold of though you could just say that the Speedwagon foundation already has a way to contact him immediately. Secondly, it takes a hell of a long time to fly from Japan or Italy to Florida. By the time that just Giorno would get near America, the time acceleration would have started, and we can imagine what would happen to their respective airplanes. It is simply impractical/impossible for reinforcements from other parts to arrive. Saying that they should have been called much earlier doesnt make sense because you are using hindsight to determine that. The reality is that the true level of threat of Pucci was only really known when he left GDSP.
That being said, there is an argument to be made about bringing in those reinforcements as soon as the Speedwagon foundation is aware of Pucci's ascension countdown. However, I think that it'd be risky to bring Giorno over. He is likely resisting the Gravity of Pucci that brought the other Sons of Dio to Pucci (his ability to resist coming from his requiem stand and his mental fortitude, remember the Sons of Dio Pucci makes use of are quite mentally unstable or weak). It is very possible that bringing him to close to Pucci would destroy his resistance to Pucci's Gravity.
In regards to bringing in other reinforcements, say Josuke and that, It would take about 2-3 days for them to just arrive in Florida from Japan (remember we are saying that reinforcements would be called around the time when Pucci's countown begins) meaning they would barely get there in time anyway. And as we saw, Jotaro who barely made it on time made effectively very little difference to the outcome. What difference Josuke would make is beyond me. Okuyasu is certainly a threat but with the time acceleration his slowness makes him far less threatening. The only other stand I could think of who would make a difference who would be called on would be Koichi's stand, which uses gravity to keep a person in place. But I wonder if that would do anything to Pucci who has power over gravity anyway, not to mention going so fast during time acceleration means he would be impossible to pin down.
