  1. I have been a Dr. Who fan since 1977. I have seen ever story, or listen on CD. I am a big Big Finish fan. This is my all time favorite scene. Make you wish the Doctor was real. If only this was possible.

  2. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty

  3. This is the only scene in doctor who that has made me cry because of how beautiful and bitte sweet the scene is

  4. What's the name of the song in the background? It honestly made the scene even better than it already is!

  5. I like to imagine he walks in thinking "Greatest art in history? Wish I could have one of mine in there…"

and then realizes there's an entire room devoted to his art.

  6. Never seen doctor who but I think this is one of the most wonderful scenes I've ever seen.
As both artist and art lover this is beautiful.

  7. easily my favorite scene in tv history. absolutely in love with the idea of showing someone who bloomed post mortem how important they became

  8. Imagine dying depressed thinking your work meant nothing. Only to realize it resonated with so many people.

  9. I am not a Doctor who fan (sorry). My husband and I were sent this clip a bit ago after we went to the Van Gogh experience (My husband is an artist and Van Gogh is his favorite). This is so beautiful, I wonder what his life would be like if he was able to see his impact on our world today. It was something he really needed to at least hear. This scene makes me tear up.

  10. No matter how messed you’re life have been,
    How will they remember you?
Either you will be remembered or forgotten,
What will you’re mark be on the world would be?, what impact you would leave for the lives you never met,
You’re family, friends and loved ones will carry our legacy of what we left behind,
Every choice you have ever made in your life will have an impact on the lives of others for better or worse
No matter how small or insignificant it may be
Will you be remembered as a nice person who helps however you can, or a recluse that shuts out the world?
Every deed and decision you made will be remembered, let be a small act of kindness like say good morning and hello, how’s your day going?
Even though life have never been in you’re favor, your effort for making the lives of others inspired by your actions
Depression is the worst enemy to fight, it uses everything to hurt you, and remind you of all the things you’ve done,
But never give in and let it win, keep fighting no matter how bad it gets

    YOU ARE NOT ALONE

  11. Whenever I'm sad I remember a quote from this episode, an episode that made me cry at the TV for the first time in a long time, and it help me feel slightly better and know things will get better; “The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't always spoil the good things or make them unimportant.”
Say what you will about Moffat's run of the show but damn did he write some incredible episodes and lines

  12. This is such a beautiful scene because it truly is a tragedy the amount of geniuses never knew how brilliant they actually were.

  13. I love Doctor Who and I love Van Gogh as well! This episode was just beautiful.. It was pure art …
By the way do you guys know the name of the song in the background??

  14. I’m crying watching this, because I reckon if he knew how loved he would be he wouldn’t have ended up killing himself. If he’d lived in todays age he would have had more support and perhaps even a happier life 💔

“I could have told you Vincent,
This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.”
    – Don McLean

  15. I was going to subscribe, but then the Silence appeared behind the button and I forgot.

  16. "Your paintings changed the world with their exquisite beauty and deep meaning"… "I used yellow".

  17. I’ve never really believed in an afterlife but I want to think Van Gogh is somewhere finally knowing how loved he is by the entire world. For every painter never appreciated, and Van Gogh specifically, I hope a heaven is real.

  18. This guy looks just like the only surviving picture of him. When I invent my time machine, Van Gogh would be the first person to visit.

  19. Why am i crying… It's just too sad to know this great man felt as a failure, an amateur and strange among other artists of his era , he was unaccepted all his life, and his works were underrated, met with criticism and mockery…
His sufferance of depression and lack of love it s just unbearable… Just imagine if this scene were real

  21. Vincent is the most beloved artist. I don't care if their outdoor tables are pleasing to the eye. His ability to convey his feelings about the results of his life and his passion that lasted until his death despite everything is very beautiful. There is so much to say. What is supposed is to tell more than one person how perfect he is, the definition of the limits of art. I can't understand how he brought his pain with the tongue of paint. It's very, very nice that the brushes are the only stand against difficult housing. He reads the letters he wrote to his brother in a book and it is very beautiful in his hand, it is very interesting to me how he creates his paintings, how he continues even though he knows that people don't like his paintings. I don't want to expect another perfect artist from him, even though I know he's flawed. I associate it with myself a lot. It's like I have his spirit inside of me. Sometimes I want to be Vincent Van Gogh despite the painful life. Of all the seasons and episodes of Doctor Who, this was the best episode. Especially this scene… I dream of watching it over and over again. If such a thing were really possible, my dear friend Vincent would end his own life. A little bit of melancholy and depression, is dinner open? Or was his soul melancholic? After this scene, we see that Vincent died, although he saw that he was coming. But I debate. I just wish he could see and talk to all seven of them for at least a minute or two. I hope your soul is happy, Vincent. I hope they continue for generations to see how valuable they are. All religions, the universe, the next world and so on. Whatever it is, if it is true or if the spirits still exist somewhere and you see what you see, you got what you deserve, even if it's a little late, friend. Thinking of your deepest soul, may he rest in peace for this… Thank you for everything, for everything you have given me…

  22. I personally think that given the social construct that most us have been taught throughout our lives, thinking outside of that constraint, could be considered madness! Yet thinking outside of that precipice allows us to freely choose our fate!

  23. In my head, this is how it really happened. I just love this scene so much. But it breaks my heart in the same time.

  24. i really wonder what happened to the character Bill Nighy plays, surely he must have lived the rest of his life in confusion and maybe one day even accepts that somehow that man was Vincent. Moffat i'd love an explanation

  25. I've had many people talk about this episode, having not watched a single episode of Who. So many talk about how powerful it is, no matter what they think of the whole show. Imo, it's one of the best episodes of Who there is, and perhaps ever will be.

  26. We could see homeless going to art galleries to get some tin cans may be tomato soup
