In a way I wish I never played this game, it’s just so good that nothing can compare. I practically quit gaming after finishing it. Such a rollercoaster of emotions, by the end I didn’t even know why I was crying. Yoko Taro is a genius.

This is that one game that I wish I could forget so I play it blind again. The hope of watching 2B slide down the sand dunes in the desert to the depression of… everything that happened. And asking myself Jean-Paul's big questions… it was a whole life, and I can't go back to it even after finishing Route C. I could only go back if I completely forgot it. Hell, now might be a good time for a replay.
We live in a world where there is nothing new to be done or discovered anymore. This has been my go to for a while but it now it has ads in the middle of playing the video which is very distracting from my studying or relaxing. I don't mind ads before or after but cutting into the middle of a song is too much when it's marketed as a relaxing video
It’s relaxing, but also hurts too much. The themes in this game mirror thoughts I have daily. Thoughts about existence, futility, if there is a life after death, or if we and the ones we love just disappear forever. Terrifying thoughts with no answer.
It’s a powerful game with an incredible soundtrack, but comes with so much baggage it’s hard to listen to. Exceptionally beautiful though.

I've never played this game but it feels like the music is trying to tell me I'm missing a part of myself, and I can't get it back but I can remember the fun I had when it was still there.
This is absolutely beautiful. I remember after my first playthrough of Nier Automata, I was incredibly sad for days, weeks. I remember having feelings related to having an extensional crisis. I think that's really powerful for a medium to have such a long-lasting effect on whoever interacts with it, even if it isn't overly positive. I thought about it for a while and I haven't thought about any other game like that. I tried buying the game for a friend and they stopped after the second playthrough because they didn't want to repeat the game again. They missed out.

Nier Automata helped me a lot during Pandemic. I played this game and got depressed. Then, a few days later my girlfriend broke up with me.
I can't explain it but the sadness this game brought helped me become resilient from that break up.
