I recetnly finished the first season and correct me for the character –
But Akari (i believe is the pink haired girl), she essentially admits that she has this crush but it turns out to be an platonic form of love towards this popular guy at her school, the popular guy obvisouly being the yellowed hair donny. On the other hand, she confesses and acts like a proper "married couple" with Jiro and has a hard time to digest on who'd she'd pick as a proper relationship partner in a long-term sense.
Jiro has a childhood friend who's she has a crush on him and has the exact same feelings for her in a mutual sense but has deeper levels of thoughts about her (which happens irl). The thing is, this "love triangle" ruins the whole purpose of what the school asked them to do, but then again it is part within the narrative itself. Jiro too, is baffled whetehr if he loves Akari or his childhood bestfriend.
