I was so upset after this anime I hopped on my V character to kill Adam Smasher again. Just for you and your crew David Martinez. Later choom and fantastic anime/game.
I’d like to think that the song “I really want to stay at your house” is from the prospective of Rebecca about her love for David. With lyrics like “So, get away Another way to feel what you didn’t want yourself to know And let yourself go” and “You know you didn’t lose your self-control” talking about how she is warning David of his cyberpsychosis when he’s trying to avoid it. And with “Cause I really wanna stay at your house” and “But you know how much you broke me apart “ shows her love for him but him doesn’t feel the same way. Idk if this all makes sense but that’s what got me crying hard XD
My only issue with this anime is pacing and no real closure. Spoilers:
So first of all in epsiode 1 when his mom (Gloria) dies it didn't really make me sad and the same goes for other people I have talked to because we barely knew her and random people dying in a show doesn't have much impact. Now it influenced David ofcourse but as a viewer the impact was not really there in my eyes. The bigger issue is the ending though. I don't mind bad endings but you still need closure in my eyes and having Rebecca and David die within such a short time frame back to back and then just showing Lucy alone on the moon remembering David for 5 seconds did not give me closure. In my eyes it is still a good anime and I still gave it an 8 on MAL but midway through I definitely planned on giving it a 9 or even 10 depending on the ending. Unfortunately it did not stick the landing in my eyes.
