There is something I think might happen. I think that Rika gets know that the culprit is Satoko, she will try to play it cool next loop. I sense, from the op, that she will be indifferent towards Satoko. Damn, I really can't wait to see how everything ends up. Hopefully we get a witch ending.
I wonder if the intro will change this time too? Maybe the club members faces will be illuminated, and we'll see that they aren't smiling menacingly, and are looking at satoko with kindness and friendship. Or the part where they fly at each other dbz style could change to their witch forms if sotsu does end up going that direction
Somebody probably already said this but in the end of the op Rika and Satoko and holding hands next to each other?
0:04-Keichi`s point of view of Rena is her at the trash dump(where rena would search for treasure?im assuming its symbolizing Keichi`s point of view of rena and where significant interactions between them happened?
0:07-Is Rena`s point of view of keichi and im assuming what they showed was the inside of Keichi's house where rena often tried to kill him,and stalk him?
0:18-When Rika and Satoko were children and rika was a looper but didnt have to fight satoko yet?/when rika hadnt become a looper either?
0:24-The peak of rika looping ends as satoko becomes a looper?
0:29-Satoko and Rika as high school students facing opposite from each other symbolizing how they`ve grown farther apart in friendship?
0:33-Hanyuu losing her power?again?or getting clapped?
0:36-Eua-San- Bored and potentially messing with rika and/or Satoko in order to make things more entertaining for her?
0:39-Rika and Satoko holding hands about to kiss symbolizing they have come to an agreement or are closer than they think?
0:42-Blood symbolizing that everyone went wrong and they died more and/or couldn't come to an agreement afterall?
0:43-Rika and Satoko Turning on eachother again because of Eua-San and/or generally couldn't reach and agreement and/or are generally fighting each other again because of they're different dreams
0:44-The Clash of the Power/They cancel eachother out?
0:47-Satoko running instead of Rika in order to get to Rika looking partially remorseful possibly for what she`s done?
0:50-Satokos reflection turns into her when she was a child, symbolizing possibly everytime shes looped, but probably means something else…
0:55-Rika Standing on the Horizon as satoko runs to get to her desperately
0:59-Satoko thinks she's failed but then rika pulls her out of the abyss/void before she's Completely sucked in meaning, they might come to an agreement possibly,Satoko is also surprised when rika grabs her hand?
1:02-Everyone fallen into despair, having their own goals and being influenced by hinamizawa syndrome, possibly the one satoko gave them?
1:14-Eua-san-using her staff possibly to change something in the time line to make things more entertaining, or just do what she feels like?
1:20-Eveyerones memory fragments probably symbolizing each of their pov`s of what happened as well as their own story, fights, guilts and similar things in each of their own sets of time line fragments.(Probably means something else)
1:21-Rika And Satoko finnally (As Children) holding hands further emphasizing that they may come to an agreement. And infront of Hinamizawa possibly hinting that after forming an alliance of agreement they create their own perfect reality where they both are truly happy primarily focusing on hinamizawa once more.
And last but not Least 1:25-Classic Higurashi no naku koro ni title at the end of the op with the blood dripping in the centre of the words.
That is my main interpretation of what this opening means, however there is probably a couple things I missed and/interpreted incorrectly
The distorting sound of the future I wished for doesn't even recognize the pain of what repeats It also imprisons the words that hopefully overflowed, it slipped through just like that
Linking together, opening wide, peeking through they keyhole, though the manipulating light is a signal I want to be with you The reflection of the single light left behind My karma shines
The emotions of a single bloodline just fought with each other Fervently praying as though loosening spikes Every time we ascertain the connected bonds, reality unravels Praying that I to protect you, in the slumbering forest The maelstrom that vanishes in the sea, beyond the truth
I like these characters, so, of course, I'm interested to know what will happen next, but to be honest, Gou and Sotsu for now seen much worse than the originals. I see some potential for the story and possible endings that will satisfy me more than in the original, but I also see a lot more outcomes that will be worse or most likely simply lead nowhere.
So, while I'm waiting for the next episodes, I'll go and calm my heart by reviewing the Outbreak (and his badass battle duet with Keiichi and Rena), this parallel and the events in it have not been canceled, fortunately.
at first i preferred "i believe what you said" but now that this song has grown on me i can't decide also is it just me or does the instrumental here sound cleaner than the full version?
In my opinion, the cicadas stole the ost from the gulls, because there is exactly the same ost in saku. Here it is: https://youtu.be/06vv3mOzaDs Yes, the words are different, but the melody and motive are the same. And honestly, I like the ost of the seagulls more than the analogy. But the very Gou and Sotsu are utter nonsense. Terrible drawing, and the plot for the second season turned into something incomprehensible. The very battle of Satoko and Riki is up-up nonsense. And the design of the chicest Fezarin is up to their crookedness. What have they done Auauauora? In a word, I will say in red: HIGURASHI NO NAKU KORO NI HAS NO SEQUEL!
As much as I loved Gou and Soutsu…. Am I the only one who really wanted Rika to just end Satoko. I did enjoy the ending with their issues getting resolved… and I get they are like sisters and dont want to be apart but Satoko's reasoning for torturing Rika (and hurting all their friends) are ridiculous, childish and selfish. I never liked her when i saw the first 2 seasons as a kid. Watched it again as an adult and really liked her character. Then this came out…. I love the entirety of the when they cry series. She just irritates me. I'm glad she snapped out of that witch crap.

Team Rika or Team Satoko?
Me team Rika💙
It would be a miracle if these episodes came out faster.
Once again, I am getting Mirai Nikki vibes from this opening. I was just expect Yuno Gasai to randomly show up with a damn kitchen knife.
Calling it now, for the final arc all the characters at 1:03 are gonna have looper eyes
0:59 Logic error ?
You know it's serious when they activate their sharingan

Yep, Satoko is definitely in love with Rika.

It also imprisons the words that hopefully overflowed, it slipped through just like that
Linking together, opening wide, peeking through they keyhole, though the manipulating light is a signal

1:03 sus smile 🗿
You either die a loli, or you live long enough to see yourself become the yandere.

This opening reveals the true ending of Sotsu I think.
Can't wait to see the conclusion of the last arc!
When I think about it
What if this op isn't from satoko's point of view ?
What if it's from rika's pov ?
What if this indicates how the ending is gonna be like ?

After today, I feel like this intro was a complete waste. Which is a shame because it was really good.

very good op
i can't tell which is, this. Irregular Entropy, or God's Syndrome. All 3 are bangers
The When They Cry series always has the best openings for horror anime
I come here now and every then to remind myself painfully what the show could have been
Goooooooood I love this song so much. The visuals are stunning and I get so excited every time the song plays in an episode.
0:23 Always gave me "The Shining" vibes.
0:39 Is nobody seeing this? 👀😏

i love satoko running
0:41 they nearly kissee
Sad, Keiichi doesn’t have much importance now.
Everytime i hear this song I think of that small snippet in Umineko opening when they are going through the picture frames.

Actual eargasm. I will be repeating “I want to be with you” like a sutra.
Then the chorus starts and my ears just implode with how good this OP is. I love that segment with the pan of the game club..
Hanni hara hare hi…..
op映像かっこよすぎない?
How Rika Kill herself: Stabs herself multiple times with a sharp kitchen knife and dies a horrible painful death
How Satoko Kill herself: Press the sharp blade against your neck and press hard, all over in one action
I first thought this was a romance anime…oh how wrong I was🗿
