Guess the whole team tags along this time to save their teammate Weiss. Hopefully it will be a successful rescue mission this time round. But love the fact we get to hear Pyrrha singing in this episode to represent Weiss heart.

  1. The song Pyrrha sings in the cage is one of the Weiss character songs from the original RWBY V1 soundtrack! The original song is called "Mirror Mirror" and was created by Jeff Williams, who creates most of the music for the original RWBY show. It's sung by his daughter Casey Lee Williams, who was 14 at the time.
Original song from 2013 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trfkk_Fletw

Pyrrha and Weiss do have some things in common regarding loneliness, which is more explored for Pyrrha in the original show. Nice nod to the original there Shaft!

  2. They are really leaning hard into the "White Trailer" (Weiss' character trailer for the original series predating Vol 1) for Ice Queendom. "Mirror, Mirror" was the song Weiss was singing in concert during that trailer, providing soundtrack to Weiss' original fight with the Arma Gigas. I would recommend watching it – it's no more than 5 minutes long, freely available on YouTube, and there isn't anything left in it that could spoil you on anything.

The way Ice Queendom is handling Pyrrha in this series is really interesting, even if she's a side character that doesn't have a whole lot of screen time compared to the original series. I was not expecting her to sing "Mirror, Mirror", but Shaft really nailed the context of the song – and Megumi Toyoguchi does have a very lovely singing voice. The really interesting thing about the outfit Pyrrha is wearing in the nightmare is it's essentially the same outfit that Weiss wears in Vols 4-6 of the original series, only it's color-matched to Pyrrha's scheme and the skirt is much longer.

One of the things I really like about Ruby's teammates is they help reign in her overly impulsive tendencies. Ruby was ready to burn right through her coins again, but this time Blake and Yang held her in check. It was that way in the main series as well, even after Ruby grew to become a fantastic leader – although as the series progressed it became a lot more give-and-take.

  3. Well there’s one good thing I can say about this dream world, it can make Pyrrha sing.

  4. I really love the Ice Queen herself negative Weiss.
    Yes she’s the new Esdeath.

  5. Ruby, Yang, and Blake will go back into the dream to save Weiss.

  6. Awww Blake’s ear is sticking
    out it’s so cute.
    Blake has Neko ears.

  7. Pyrra is so such an amazing singer.
It’s so nice to see her in the dream world too.

  8. Yo that powerful scene with both Weiss’s staring at each
    other like a mirror.

  9. And we get the cliffhanger.
I guess we will have to wait to see what happens.
Maybe we will get the Blake
    and Ruby vs Weiss.
