Really needs that 60FPS update
Being both a Nier Automata fan and a 2D drawing anime lover, I hate to say it, but to be honest I feel that Nier Automata deserve a better drawing team for its animation sequence, the cut-scenes from the official trailer is just like the average quality in early 2000s production, overall lack of details on characters and contrast of light and dark areas (a somewhat "dull" background), the 3D rendered cut-scenes from the original game is just head and shoulders above it.
I still hope the scenario would be great, and possibly an alternative redemption in addition to the voice drama 《人形達ノ記憶》, but for the picture quality, I guess I will have to lower my expectation to avoid disappointment….

Honestly they could just be rotoscoping over the original scenes from the game with slight variations but what I am more excited about is the OST. We've only been given a taste of what the copied city would sound like and I want more.
The best thing about this Anime is that Yoko Taro “additions” to the lore could either improve the anime or outright destroy it

Could've been cool to see a different story of the same universe like what Edgerunners did. Big shame.

gotta admire the accuracy. I heard the story will be different from the game. might not follow the same but can't get enough of NieR, mostly the Automata setting. Replicant was really good last year, I didn't really think the original on ps3 was all that great.

Somehow my memories removed those black bars from the game because I swear Yoko Taro said he removed it for the final release or added some option for it.

I absolutely started genociding the Machines for what they did to her. Of course i left only one alive – the one who begged me to kill it.
The anime will never rival the game I’m just stating that now 🤷 just because something is “anime” (cough cough just like everything else now n days) doesn’t mean it’s good. The anime will be “alright” but the animation is pretty mid and the game is legendary for what it is there’s no need to ruin the legacy of Nier due to the constant anime milking trend just saying man.
Actually hyped a bit on this one…. Can't wait for Nines cameo 😀
Hopefully the ending will be the good concert one or better
