  1. Probably the best game of rugby in decades. It was on the edge of your seat stuff for the full 80 minutes. 2 gladiators belting it out full on an not 1 willing to concede. Well played England you where worthy opponents, but our Wahine toa, women warrior's got up to win.

  2. I'm not sure that was a send off offense, bit harsh in my opinion. Well played both teams, epic match.

  3. Feel a little sorry for the Red Roses here. The red card incident didn't look deliberate ( I am a Scot so not blinded by nationalism – well yes blinded but not in England's favour ). Rules is rules but the whole game hinged on that IMO. Great game though. Have to think England would have scored some more open play tries and maybe not shipped as many tries as they did with 15 women.

  4. she got a red card for that?! That's fuckin ridiculous. I'm happy we won but 15 against 14 for all but 15 minutes of the match just feels like bullshit. yeah I know we have to protect the players but that's not a red card. I'm done with rugby, they've ruined the game.

  5. One word – W O W!! The sheer power of the raw determination of New Zealand is why you NEVER, EVER underestimate them. A throughly well deserved victory to the Kiwis but lets not forget the effort of England, without whom there would have been no match. They played excellently but it just wasn't enough on the day

  6. What ever happened to getting married and having babies just like in the town of Chillingbourne.

  7. England threw that away. They had so many opportunities yet kept fumbling and giving away silly penalties. Even with 14 players they shouldve won that. Bottled it. Congrats to NZ though, nice to win at home!

  8. I've read a few comments on here that suggest that Lydia Thompson's tackle on Portia Woodman shouldn't have been a red card because she didn't intend to knock her out using a facebutt and also that Lydia is one of the nicest cleanest players in the game.
Hey, I totally agree. Players shouldn't be penalised for reckless actions that endanger others. It should be about whether or not you meant any harm and if you are a good person.

When reviewing foul play, the TMOs could perhaps have access to all of the players social media accounts. That way they could quickly flick through their history and see if they are a good person. Perhaps they've recently adopted a kitten or visited a rest home. Then they could total up the amount of "good person points" and offset that against the "bad action points" roll two dice (once for each side) and add that to the totals. This will give a fair and clear way to decide what action should be taken.
Also, there could be a change in tactics during gameplay. We could see some neat and cool new things like; a player could run with the ball tucked under one arm and with the other punch their fist repeatedly into the air while running forward.
They are not meaning to hit any of the players of course, but if it happens, well it won't be their fault.
The other is that when a player is contesting a high ball, players could jump kick at the ball to see what happens. If a face gets in the way, well that wasn't intended of course.
    Exciting stuff.
I think that the Lydia Thompson tackle could be blueprinted and used as a staple tackle technique for the future.
A couple of tweaks could be made, perhaps flinging ones arms behind oneself and leaping forwards, like a dolphin to make sure the full head to face contact is made.

  9. And that is why us KIWI'S (New Zealand) is the best in the world for the women's and men's rugby. Congratulations ladies that would have been such an awesome game to be watching in person. Go the kiwis 🇳🇿🐑 . Hats off to the poms for giving us a good game though…

  10. One of the most enthralling rugby games I have ever seen, and I have watched for nearly 40 years. Thank you to both teams for putting on a spectacle of talent and intensity.

  11. That was epic. I was wrong in my assessment and I deservedly eat humble pie. Even they were widely accepted by both the Black Fern's team and the wider rugby pundits (Wayne Smith included) Underdogs going into this final against a formidable English forward pack that was on a winning Test run of 30 wins, proved beyond a doubt the Black Ferns can, as Sir Wayne Smith says, sing and dance which they draw on to build that vibe within that close net circle the Black Ferns knew how, with the immense pressure for a prize of the Women's Rugby World Cup and to etch their names into Rugby's History around the world and forever immortalised in "Black Ferns" rugby history. Can't get a bigger stage than that, in front and centre of the toughest critics but the greatest nation of rugby diehard supporters. Kia Kaha!

  12. The red carding of the England player would have very little adverse affect on the outcome, she was a winger and would have seen very little ball with the style of game they played.

  13. English were too one dimensional and played boring rugby.

  14. Red card really spoilt the game. Not the ref or players fault as they were just following the rules of the game…… Can't really blame the rule as a it is supposed to protect the player… and if they were to make it a judgement call whether head collision is intentional or not there will be other problems too when making the call…. Just unlucky for England.

  15. England have set the standard for Women's rugby. The programm they run is amazing and they should be proud of their performance. To be down 1 player for 60mins and still keep the game close. Well done ladies from NZ

  16. I'm now a rugby fan after watching these world cup games. I was astonished at the level of athleticism, skill, determination, and sheer excitement of the games. I am a convert now…FANTASTIC!

  17. Great game. Such a pity the English girl got red carded as the outcome may have been a whole lot different. Hats off to the awesome mauling skills of the English girls. The best in the business. The Black Ferns had no answer for them and were hapless in trying to stop them. Those mauls resulting in tries by the English Team were awesome to watch unfold and were absolute teaching moments for the Black Ferns. Great game by both teams. Good luck in the 2025 tournament in your homeland England. Arohanui to both teams from a Black Ferns Fan. Ma te wa.
