Conclusion, this was NOT the first time something like this has happened and Wein probably has killed more people over an offense like that than we can imagine.
This is one of the scenes that sold us on both Wein and Ninym as a couple and got us on board with their story.
Wein is an affable guy. His men respect him and love that he regularly comes down to meet them at their level without pretense.
But his men, and the whole Natran court, would never dare forget that Wein is, deep down, a king–in every sense of the word. He has a big heart–for both benevolence and cruelty. There are lines people simply do not cross in his presence and his personal caprices have been given the power of edict. And personally running a sword through your ass for insulting his precious aide is one of them. Do that? And like clockwork, everyone in Natra knows your time is up. Watching Wein go apeshit is part of the fun.
